Old washing machine was on the fritz, wanted to get an HE but had a front loader once and hated it, got dirty all the time and musty smelling. This is HE top loading, musty smells are gone now and moldy plastic rings around the door.
My office is right behind the wall of the washing machine, the old one was so loud when filling and agitating, I can no longer hear any noises except the water moving in our house piping now, it's amazing how quiet it is.
It was a little more money than we were looking to spend but it is totally worth it. The tub alone holds comforters that we would have to haul down to the cleaners. Having 3 kids and generating a lot of laundry used to take 4 loads we can do in 2 loads now.
Totally recommend, worth the money.

My first He washer, love it, stylish it is Quiet , I was impressed by that, my rotator washer was not as quiet. My clothes come out so much cleaner, able to do blankets , What is different is, if you use downy crystals and HE pods like I do you put that in first then put clothes in. All and all Love it, but changing to HE liquid due to pods may clog the machine. I like the Deep water feature for bigger loads.

This washer holds a lot of laundry. We were even able to wash 2 full size comforters in the same load. The end-chime is a nice feature, especially since the washer itself is really quiet. Laundry comes out of the washer nearly dry so less time is needed in dryer. I did mark down one star due to the longer wash times needed as a result of the high-efficiency wash technology. Well worth it, for the sake of saving water, though :)

This Whirpool Cabrio is my first high efficiency (HE) washer. I was a little apprehensive about buying it, mainly because of the not-so-good reviews others have written about HE washers.
I've always owned basic agitator-type machines that let me be in total control. I thought no way could I ever get a good wash without me being in charge of the water level, or being able to open the lid to poke around and check on how things were moving, tweaking this or that as I saw fit. I didn't want to give that up.
So basically, my reluctance about owning a HE washer was that it uses new engineering and a philosophy that says: "Look, you put in the clothes and go away. We're gonna' lock the lid, adjust the water automatically, and wash your clothes in a way that we've vetted to be best, despite what you think you know. By the way, we'll beep when we're done. Trust us!"
I didn't know if I was ready to put such blind faith into the concepts of some faraway washing machine engineers, but I pondered this: These engineers have scrutinized laundry in their labs and they are experts! They use computers, math, science, maybe even algebra! This is what they do for a living. They have wash-water in the veins! With all this know-how, they've figured out better ways to wash clothes, like how to do a better job with less water. They know what they're doing. In my little laundry room with not one computer, how could I possibly think I know more than they know? I decided to go for it.
Well, despite my pre-purchase apprehension, I have to say I'm totally happy with my new HE Whirlpool Cabrio washer. I've ceded total control to the engineers and to the logic they've built into this magic white box. The Cabrio really "knows what it's doing" and the clothes come out clean and fresh! The electronic controls are not nearly as intimidating as they might look initially. In fact, the controls and the machine itself are a joy to operate. I actually look forward to using my washer! Go figure!
A word about noise: I now know that high-efficiency washers work differently and make sounds that are noticeably different than older style washers. It's really unfair that some (possibly confused) reviewers characterize these "different" sounds as noise. To me, noise is a high decibel, annoying sound that makes a person want to cover his/her ears. The Cabrio is no way like that. It's very quiet. If I'm close to it when it's in a wash or rinse cycle, yes, I can hear its subdued grunting. But this low-level sound is hardly noticeable when I walk away. It's incredibly quiet when spinning to extract water, even though when I put my hand on the lid I can sense that the drum is really flying! It extracts a lot of water! And it's solid as a rock on the floor thru all cycles, including the super-fast spinning.
I never mind spending money on well-built things. To me, the Cabrio feels solid and well-built. Compared to other washers that I checked, I feel I got an outstanding value. It's a solid, technically advanced washer that does a great job for a decent price. I bought the matching Cabrio dryer. I'm very happy and I would recommend these machines to anyone. After writing this, I almost wish it were wash day! Good luck!

This washer it fantastic! I love the large capacity and the fact that there is no agitator, and it is so quiet you can't tell that it's on. The electronic setting makes it really easy to operate and the washer cleaning cycle is awesome.

We can only compare and contrast with our old washer:
Our new Whirlpool-Cabrio washer is quieter, uses less water,
has more cleaning options and leaves our laundry cleaner and
requires much less dryer time. We are very satisfied.

I have had this washer for a week so far and it has been great. It holds tons of clothes and washes them well. I really like the display that tells you how long the wash will take depending on the settings you choose for that load. It does make some clicks when sensing for the water but not noisy for the whole wash cycle, only when sensing. So far great, especially for families. Make sure you read the manual on loading it and choose the right setting and it has worked great!

I purchased this washing machine to replace a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. The old washing machine (only 7 1/2 years old) had broken suspension rods that supported the washer drum. I have enjoyed the new machine so far. I do notice more noise with my new machine and some clothes cycles run a bit longer.
With new technology comes change. Some changes are for the better, some not. I think my clothes come out just as clean. I know my clothes come out wetter than previously. You can change the spin speed of the cycle but, I have read reviews that indicate the drier the clothes come out of the cycle, the more wrinkled the clothes are. For me, that is a trade off I am willing to take.
I have only owned this machine for 4 weeks. I enjoy Whirlpool products and sincerely hope I get more than 7 1/2 years of service from this washer. So far, so good.

I love this washer!! I have been able to cut my loads by half because the tub holds so much clothes. They are clean, rinsed, and come out perfect, in half the time and I am using half the water too. Being disabled has made laundry a nightmare for me, until this machine came, now it's a breeze. Thanks Whirlpool for figuring out what was lacking in old machines, and making the changes..this machine is AWESOME!!!!!

I find that this washer cleans my clothes well, this bin is HUGE! I never feel like I have enough clothes to wash to fill it and also I don't think my old dryer could handle the weight! The only thing is that I think it's a bit loud during part of the cycle but it's okay for the price of the washer compared to others. I just shut the door!!

Read all reviews and decided on this one to replace a Samsung that had to be repaired 7 times in 2 years! We gave up and got this washer due to the quality and repairmen recommendations. It is a little noisy but we knew that already from having the new style washer before. It has had no problems so far and cleans clothes fast and efficiently. I would recommend this washer !

This washer is very easy to use, very quiet and very large. Even though it looks smaller than my old washer, the size is deceiving. The capacity of this washer is great, holding lots of clothes or bulky items easily. This is my second cabrio washer and I have not been disappointed yet. It looks great.

This unit works exactly as I was expecting. It holds a ridiculous amount of clothes, and does a great job getting them all clean. (also me wife hates how full I get it so it has temporarily got me out of doing the laundry). BEST WASHER EVER!!!

This is my first high effiency washer so I had to learn about the differences lower water levels and faster spin cycles make. My first load had striking on dark clothes and they're were more wrinkly. Read the instruction throughly and made adjustments; Using the right detergent and settings I am getting the results promised. This item does not have all the settings and features as newer models and I am fine with that. I have not gotten utility bills but it is using less water so I hope to see the reflected in my bill. The price was excellent.
It does the job and I am very happy.

I really like this washer. It has some amazing functionality with all the settings and variables. It has a large capacity and is relatively quiet. The only part I find strange is the soap 'drawer" that you put the detergent in. It isn't very clear on how much to use and has an upper lip with a fill to here mark that is not helpful. I've just stuck to the detergent bottle instructions and everything has worked great.

I'm very happy with my purchase. It's a lot bigger than I expected and can hold more than my previous washer. I did not give it 5 stars only because I wish it had a spin only feature.... the closest thing I have found was a rinse and spin feature.I love where I can do the delay wash too...
