A GREAT game to play with friends!

This game is so much fun to play on your own and it’s even better with friends. There is so much content in Kirby Air Riders. You have 4 main modes to play in: Air Ride (standard racing mode), City Trial (battle), Top Ride (racing from a top-down perspective), and Road Trip (Story Mode). There are so many things to collect: characters, machines (karts), tracks. And also Miles (in-game currency) that you earn from playing and can use to purchase cute outfits for your Riders! There are also tons of challenges to complete and you are rewarded with unlocking the previously mentioned things and also with Miles. You’re also able to customize your Air Ride Machines and there is much room for creativity! There’s even more features besides this but I don’t want to go on for too long. I highly recommend this game and definitely think you get your money’s worth. There is a lot to do!

    The Perfect Sequel

If you loved Kirby Air Ride in 2003, you'll positively adore this sequel. For those unfamiliar with the series, it may take some getting used to, but if you suspend your expectations and take in what it offers, you'll be surprised with a delightful experience that is as deep as it is wide in serving content. From a robust online offering to a satisfying single player campaign and offline modes, the game caters to however you want to play. A variety of racers, costumes, and vehicles keeps things constantly fresh, and the customization allows users to express their own creativity or enjoy the work of others. This is a must pick up for Switch 2 owners.

Kirby Air Riders is pure fun from the moment you start your first race. The controls are really simple, so it’s easy for anyone to pick up, but there’s still enough depth with different machines and powers to keep it interesting. The tracks are bright, creative, and packed with little shortcuts that make you want to replay them to see everything. Local multiplayer has been a blast in my house and it’s the kind of game you can play for 10 minutes or an entire evening. If you like Kirby or arcade-style racers, this one is an easy recommendation.

The original Kirby Air Ride was my favorite Kirby spinoff and one of my favorite gsmes overall. I never thought we'd get a new one, but it was something I always did want. This new game has far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it for someone wanting a more unique multiplayer game, or anybody who already enjoyed the original. Honestly my Game of the Year 2025, but I admit I'm very biased, this game's existence was a pipe dream for me.

It’s peak. Takes some getting used to if you’re used to MarioKart but I’d say it’s better in almost every way, with the only downside being it may be too fast-paced for inexperienced gamers. It’s like playing MarioKart on 200cc.

His might be the best Switch 2 game I have played. It’s a fun racing game. Feels like Super Smash Bros but on wheels. 12/10 highly recommended.

If you grew up playing Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube and have been waiting years for Nintendo to finally acknowledge it, Kirby Air Riders on the Nintendo Switch 2 feels like a love letter written directly to you. The best part? They didn’t break the formula. This isn’t one of those sequels that tries to reinvent everything. Instead, it keeps the simple, addictive, one-button fun that made the original so iconic, while adding just enough fresh design to make it feel modern. Controls are tight, machines are responsive, and the classic “easy to learn, impossible to master” glide-based movement is still here in full force. New machines blend beautifully with returning favorites, and the new maps slot right in alongside the classics—nostalgic players will feel immediately at home, while newcomers get a smooth intro to the chaos. Nintendo also made some extremely welcome quality-of-life choices: Download Play between Switch 2 systems No need for everyone to buy a copy—just like the good old days of DS download share. Local split-screen multiplayer It’s shockingly rare now, but Air Riders embraces couch chaos. Four players on one screen feels exactly as hectic and joyful as it did in 2003. A new Story Mode A surprisingly fun addition that adds replay value without pulling attention away from the core Air Ride/City Trial gameplay loop. If you loved the original, this one hits all the same dopamine buttons: fast races, ridiculous power-ups, the thrill of City Trial, and that signature Kirby charm. It’s just as fun today as it was back then—maybe even more so with the Switch 2’s performance and modern additions. Highly recommended for any Kirby Air Ride fan. Nintendo finally brought it back, and they absolutely did it justice.

Kirby Air Riders Has The Juice

Kirby is a spicy, delicate lad. Their exploits are always pleasant. This game, right here, can fit so many fun things inside it. “Like what?” you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. There are characters. Many. Machines on which to race and fly and do battle. Game modes? You bet! You can race. Or fly. Or do battle! Mario Kart but with Kirby? No. This is wrong. Don’t think like this. Kirby Air Riders is so much more than this. Kirby Air Riders is more like a poem with no beginning or end. A long, glorious middle. This game has nothing to do with Grand Theft Auto or the price of celery at your local grocery store. It’s about Kirby and their buddies doing races. Collecting power ups. Battling? Occasionally. Is it multiplayer? Yes. Can children play this? Of course, but only if they have the will to succeed and the power to do great things. Everyone should own Kirby Air Riders. Even if they don’t play it, they can put it on a shelf or maybe a little basket. Everyone should have Kirby in a basket by their front door. This is so you don’t forget Kirby when you leave and also Kirby is one of the first to greet you when you return. Go ahead and purchase this game. It cannot be used as an antiseptic.

This game has over-delivered. I never played the original Kirby air ride on GameCube, but being a major fan of Kirby I picked up this game. It has an amazing story mode, with two endings that incentives multiple playthroughs. The online game modes are well thought-out, and queing into games has been very fast. There was definitely a learning curve at the beginning, so I am not sure if I would recommend to a casual gamer. But there is still much to enjoy even if you are. Another thing I love is that you can unlock everything in game with challenges through the checklist. And nothing is locked behind DLC, or having to spend extra money on in game content. 10/10.

The game is amazing. It has something for everyone. If you enjoy PvP and ranking up, online city trial and racing is a blast There’s a bunch of offline content too, with a great number of goals to shoot for to gain in-game rewards. Completionists will enjoy their time 100%ing. And if you like to switch up your playstyles, there are many different riders and machines combinations you can adapt to. Combat, racing, flight. The soundtrack is great. The graphics look beautiful. The racing is smooth. And the accessibility/customization options are there to add extra personality to your gaming experience.

It'd be easy to label this as a "Mario Kart Clone". However, this game stands out with it's various mechanics & modes. Made by the same team behind "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate", Kirby Air Riders boasts plenty of content to keep you engaged. The single-player mode "Road Trip" has you playing through a variety of what the game has to offer + you just unlock lots of stuff such as characters, vehicles, customization items, etc. from it. The other main modes(Air Ride, Top Ride & City Trial) are all playable online with sorta a "weird" ranking system. Overall, a worthwhile package here.

This is the best title on the Switch 2 by FAR. A delightfully fast-paced battle royale with simple controls that offers hours and hours of fun for the whole family, whether you're online or playing solo. I'm not a fan of games like this, usually. Sakurai, the developer, just does NOT miss. If you're going to pick up any one title when you get your switch, skip Mario Kart and get Kirby Air Riders instead!

Although the city trial map is not what i know and love from the OG on Gamecube. It does offer a new layout to be enjoyed. The Road trip gamemode is a simple but very entertaining campaign mode especially if you try to complete the 150 check list. I will say even though the old city trial map isnt in game. The dev team and my man Masahiro Sakurai did add in the old air ride, top ride, and stafium trials from the original. Truly a great game.

As a fan of Kirby Air Ride on the Gamecube, I can confidently say that this is the successor I've been waiting for! It's a massive improvement from the Gamecube days with so much more added (Characters, Tracks, Story Mode, Online Play, More Vehicles, Tons of Customization, etc). The game also just controls, looks, and feels amazing thanks to all the adjustments that have been made!
