I have had Yamaha receivers since the late 80's. A lifetime ago I sold home audio and Yamaha has always been my favorite. My last receiver to buy was the RXV 663 and I was not please with it at all. It was very non user friendly and the owners manual seemed to be a straight translation from Japanese to English, it was very difficult to understand. We purchased a new 3D TV and we needed a receiver to pass the 3D signal through so I started looking at the RXA-750. I am so glad that I got this receiver. Super easy to operate, very nice on screen display, there is an app that you can download that will work the receiver from your phone. The sound is fantastic, it is easy to use and I am very glad I got this.

This my first yamaha receiver. I have always been an Onkyo guy until my last two high end units failed and Onkyo shrugged me off, offering little reparations. This yamaha seems to be built well, if not a little too light ( my Onkyo units of the same power were around 65 pounds, this Yamaha is 24). The yamaha is a lot easier to navigate and set-up via on screen and display menues. The harmonic distortion is its weakest point at volume, but expect it from a $600 receiver. Also, the rear banana plugs feel cheap and flimsy . Overall my initial evaluation is favorable, but only time will tell.

I took a chance at a newly released receiver. I paired it with the Energy Take Classic speakers. Works and sounds excellent! Took a while to set up, but once done it is easy to operate. I also have a Zone 2 that I control through the on screen interface, or my favorite the Yamaha App! The app works well on my Samsung Galaxy 4 and my Samsung Note tablet.

My 2.5 year old Pioneer Elite receiver started developing an issue with its HDMI board. Came across this unit as an Open Box plus an additional 20% so I figured it was worth a shot. So far so good, setup was easy, speaker calibration and on screen menus are great. Sound quality is what you would expect from Yamaha. I've had Kenwood, Onkyo, Pioneer and now Yamaha receivers and would definitely say the Yamaha is my favorite in terms of sound.

I spent some time on several websites researching home theatre systems. I wanted to see and hear the Yamaha amplifiers. The Best Buy employee Listened to what I was looking for and Demonstrated the 750 for me. After hearing the system I had to have it. The system was priced well within my means and sounded just right for my home. It was very easy to set up. I am glad I stopped by to look at and get a demonstration of this amplifier.

In spite of the fact that I could not sync my DirectTv remotes to the receiver the device is one I would buy again. The ease of set-up, the WiFi, Bluetooth and solid sound make this one of my better purchases.
If I had one complaint it would be that I can't increase the volume more coming from my center speaker. Would like to have increased volume to improve the sound of dialogue from the system.

Great purchase. Plenty of HDMI and analog inputs. Loving the built in Apps such as Pandora and streaming FM. The phone app for remote control is great. Works through Wi-Fi. so don't have to be able to see the unit. Sounds great with lots of power. Using in a 5.1 configuration with a second Stereo only zone. Folks in Magnolia were very helpful.

I have been impressed with this receiver over the last several months. I am new to the home theater game and my opinion is that this receiver is a great place to start. It has great features, I especially like it's Bluetooth capabilities. Additionally, the 3D pass through and 4K upscaling made this item work perfectly with my television. The receiver has consistent performance and is user friendly. Set-up is not difficult. I am pleased with this purchase. In the future as my home theater system grows, it would be nice to have more subwoofer channels.

Very Nice Upgrade

I upgraded to the RX-A750 from an Onkyo TX-NR616, and it is a world of difference. The sound quality is noticeably crisper, and playing at low volumes is no longer an issue. I have owned Yamaha's in the past, and I loved them. However, I happened upon a good deal on the Onkyo that I couldn't pass up (I later regretted the change). My experience with setting up the Onkyo vs. the Yamaha were night and day. The Onkyo needed several firmware updates right out of the box, which I have come to expect with everything these days. When it came to configuring everything I spent hours churning between the 2 separate menus in order to configure everything the way I wanted, and it still wasn't perfect. I decided it was good enough because the manual and UI were so confusing and poorly laid out that I didn't have the energy to do anything more. With the Yamaha, I spent a half hour setting everything up. I was able to configure all of my inputs/outputs, rename the inputs, connect to my Wi-Fi, set up my zone 2, and configure my speaker layout in the manual EQ settings. Now I still haven't ran the automatic YPAO optimizer (I have small kids, so its difficult to get a quiet house), but I have no doubt that it will be a breeze. TL;DR the Yamaha is child's play to set up, and the Onkyo requires more than my bachelor's in electro-mechanical engineering to rein in.
Now back to the Yamaha. The remote is very nicely laid out and pretty straightforward. I have a harmony remote I use to control everything, but I can't find it in me to put the Yamaha remote away because it does the job so well. Switching listening modes, changing to direct, turning on the enhancer, changing the number of channels used is a breeze with the remote. Job well done on that one Yamaha. The on screen interface for changing settings does a nice unobtrusive overlay on the left hand side that is very easy to quickly navigate. It isn't overloaded, so you aren't bogged down with a million settings to fiddle with. The unit is well equipped with features. There is plenty of power (105W/channel) to drive my speakers, connections in the back aren't badly cramped, and support for multiple streaming services. The RX-A750 really feels like a solid receiver that should serve me well for many years to come.

Yamaha RX-A750 AV Receiver - Great product

My previous AV Receiver started failing after 9 years of use. After reading reviews of current products, I selected the Yamaha RX-A750 unit because of price, features, and good reviews.
I have shopped at Best Buy for many years, and saw that they had this receiver available. The salesman was very knowledgeable about the various AV receiver products, and helped me with the purchase of the RX-750.
Installation was very easy, with the help of the setup documentation and instructions that came with the unit. After using it for a few weeks, I'm very satisfied with the operation of the unit, and the sound from the 5 speakers and subwoofer.

This receiver has given me the ability to use my surround sound system full time for my 4 K TV. It was very easy to adjust my speakers to the new receiver. Previously I had to have this done by technicians. The sound is very realistic and makes watching TV much more enjoyable.

I'd been a longtime Denon customer when it came time to replace my receiver. I did a lot of on-line research and decided on Yamaha based on consumer reporting, customer ratings, and my own research on the various functions and features that the product offered. Set-up was fairly straightforward using the on-screen GUI. All I can say to the reviewer that complained about having to connect to an external monitor is GET OVER IT! The reason one buys this product is because of the audio AND video capabilities. Sound quality is great and I particularly like the WiFi connectivity and app that allows me to control the unit from by tablet or smartphone.

I needed a new amp. I wanted one that would receive WI FI signal from the second floor where I have my computer and network set up. I planned to buy a Sonos unit that would receive my signal from the second floor and a new amp that could drive six speakers hard wired on the lower floor. There was some confusion among the sales people about which amp but they finally recommended the Yamaha and said I did not need the Sonos unit. I looked it up, and it sort of seemed like the right thing. I bought in on Black Friday, good price. It wasn't the right thing. The sound was great but in only two of the six speakers. And we could not figure out how to set the WI FI without the TV screen which was up stairs. I called the store, they recommended I hire the Geek squad to figure it out. No way. The sales department sold it to me. So they said to call Yamaha. It took several days and a friend who worked as an engineer at a radio station and a call to Yamaha to figure it out. This amp has to be connected to a TV screen to configure the reception of WI FI, like Pandora, etc. And, the guy at Yamaha said the amp receiver was for home theater, not for a simple amp driving speakers in my configuration. I guess it is too much to expect the sales people at Best Buy to know all the stuff they have. You have to do thorough research for complicated things. I returned it. They took it back without any problem and suggested a different amp and the sonos unit.
