I have a lot of Rexing dash cams, and I have been very happy with all of them. They are reliable and well made and this 4G LTE connected 2-channel takes the already great features that Rexing offers with their camera line up to a whole new level with the 4G LTE connectivity. Now you can have a live view of your front and rear cameras as well as real-time GPS tracking. Secure 30-day cloud storage is included with the $9.99 monthly subscription (covers the cost of the LTE service) and that gives you 1GB of data transfer. You do have the option to add more data for a small fee if you find that you need more, but from my use this past week, 1GB should be enough for a month easily. You do get your first month free according to the descriptions, but when I signed up, I was not presented with the option of a free month. I had to contact Rexing support, and they instructed me to cancel after the first month and do the set up again, so just be aware of that bug that you might experience. Rexing support was quick and, although not the ideal outcome, they did provide some guidance. Another feature of the connectivity is you can set up Push notifications and by default, they are all set to on. So, you will get an abundance of alerts to your phone. Ignition off, Ignition on, Anti-theft mode, Overspeed, GPS changes, Parking alarm…. There are many options. I turned a lot of them off to keep my sanity, but it’s nice that you have options here. The camera connects to your OBD2 plug in your 1996 and newer car and I found that the cable is a lot thicker than I would prefer, so you may have to get creative when tucking the wire to have a clean installation. There is protection on in the app that you can set up so it will not drain your car battery down as well. Speaking of installation, it was easy to set up and you have everything you need including a transparent electrostatic sticker to help with the front camera installation along with a small plastic tucking/trim tool for wire management. Also included in this package is a 64GB Micro SD card to get you going, but you have the option to install up 128GB if you do, just look up which Micro SD cards work best since Rexing has some recommended cards that they prefer to use. The rear camera has a 22ft cable that was able to reach the rear of my Gen 4 Honda Pilot with some spare left over. Both cameras provide great daytime video and night video is decent, but not the best in my opinion and it is really hard to find a camera that is great at night. Bright lights tend to blow out the image so don’t expect to read license plates during the night with the rear camera, especially if your rear window is tinted. The camera itself does not have a screen in it and it only has one button and a status light. You can quickly hit the button to save your video or take a picture and that is handy to have. All the set up is done via the OnaGo app. Also, another great benefit of Rexing cameras is the extended 18-month warranty when you register it and from my past experience, I had no issues when I had to replace one of my cameras under warranty.
