One of those so good from beginning to end!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed.-Feature: This is one of those movies where you find yourself glued to the screen not wanting to miss a second & never pay attention to the time asking yourself “when will this be over.” It’s a keepsake & worth buying to watch over again! One of the best Biopic titles out there. Pros: -Picture; Dolby Vision never disappoints. -Slipcover; No but it was a steelcase. -Digital Copy; Yes, full version w/ Atmos & Vision. Cons: -Sound; Atmos track was mainly front stage active. Could’ve use more immersive surround. -Gear used for sound & visuals: LG 65’ C6P 4k/3D passive OLED (manually calibrated) 9.2 Onkyo RZ + pre amp for 7.2.4/11.2 (integrated calibrated then manually tweeted with SPL sound level meter & balance/adjust for full dynamic range) Klipsch P-REF towers center sides rears & dual R112SW subs Polk Audio MC80 8’ quad in-ceiling heights Oppo 4K UDP-203 Monster cables: Premium Black Platinum HDR HDMIs, THX Audio RCA, Digital Subwoofer Cables & Fiber Optic Ultra 1000 Monoprice 14 gauge awg copper speaker wire Nakamichi Speaker Plugs Auralex Acoustic Isolation platforms

Dented Steelbook. Online Store Pick Up.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Dented Steelbook. Everything else was okay other than a big dent in the corner of my Steelbook copy I ordered for Store Pickup. A little upset that they grabbed a dented copy off the shelf.

Rocketman is a fantastic film worth checking out!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed.Learning the beginnings of Sir Elton John was very enlightening. I've been a fan of his music since 1970. I never knew of his upbringing. After watching this film I'm an even bigger fan than I was before. You definitely need to check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Rock On, Elton!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This bio-pic of rock 'n roll icon Elton John is this year's "Bohemian Rhapsody." The Freddie Mercury story made a small fortune at the box office and walked away with a handful of Oscars, including one for Rami Malek as Best Actor. Maybe lightning will strike twice because "Rocketman" deserves the same respect. In fact, in terms of production numbers and pacing, it is better than "Rhapsody," which suffered from a sluggish middle act before delivering the goods in its rousing finale. "The Kingsman" star Taron Egerton seems an unlikely choice for the role of Sir Elton, but he plays the part so convincingly you quickly forget that this is the kid who set the movie world on fire spoofing James Bond. The soundtrack covers most of Elton's greatest hits, presented in zippy bits of staging that approximate the thrill of John in concert. If you've never seen the man live because you can't afford the steep ticket prices, pick up this film for a fraction of the cost and turn the lights down and volume up. It's two hours of rock 'n roll bliss.

A truly magnificent movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I absolutely love this film. Using Elton's music as the soundtrack to his life story is brilliant!!! I cannot say enough about this movie. From the opening scene, in his Bob Mackie outfit to the closing credits, this is a cinematic wonder. Impressively beautiful. Visually it is spectacular. As vibrant and alive as Elton himself is. Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell have a transcendent chemistry. They show the true love and friendship the two men have for one another, co-writing music together for over 50 years, writing some of the most beloved songs of all time. The entire cast was amazing. Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton's cold and distant mother. Richard Madden as John Reid, Elton's cruel lover/manager. Gemma Jones as his supportive, loving grandmother. All of them did such a great job with their characters. Although I have owned the discs for such a short time, I have watched the film half a dozen times already, and that number will continue to increase over time. This is a must see movie.

A great biopic on the legendary Elton John.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. At first glance, Rocketman may be a bit jarring to watch at times because it's not just a biographical film, it's a musical, but that was the point. Elton John has lived an incredible life, and it's only natural that his movie should be exaggerated. Thanks to his timeless musical hits, Elton John takes the viewer on a ride as he deals with his early life, fame, sexuality, drugs, alcoholism, depression, and love. Taron Egerton was meant to play Elton John, and the seeds were already planted if you followed his career so far. Not only was Elton John in the Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Egerton sang I'm Still Standing in Sing. It's just a shame he didn't get nominated for a Oscar. For Steelbook fans, it's worth the extra money. Overall, if you are an Elton John fan, you don't need me to tell you to pick up this film. Rocketman is a feel good movie from start to finish.
