    Practically spot on speed.

Speed is as advertised, runs cool and fast. Great upgrade from samsung 870 evo. Bechmark at 6900 mbs/sec. Advertised at 7000 mbs/sec. Practically spot on. Great addition to my build. Asus tuf x570 plus wifi, ryzen 7 5800x3d, nvidia 3060 gpu and system memory clocked at 3600 mhz with a corsair 1000w psu. Some might say the psu is a little much for this build but it honestly makes all the components run much cooler when the psu is doing most of the work. Little bit more for the psu but in the long run much better than than a 700w thermal take that kept shutting down and making everything run too hot. Especially the 5800 x3d which most of the time, when not overclocked will run a hair under 4500 mhz. Now the cpu and the gpu when gaming will stay around 60 to 65C. Old power supply would have them both running 70 to 80 and the pc would blue screen. Just some tips for new builders out there. Hope yall enjoyed the review.

    Perfect for PS5!

This is a great way to increase storage for your PS5 SSD storage, which is rather space limited out of the factory. First, don’t go after cheaper models without a heat sink. The PS5 already generates tons of heat and you don’t want your precious SSD getting damaged. Second, while there is a 2TB model, honestly assess whether you think that sort of space is necessary for your playing needs. Unlike many expansion options, this LEGIT gives you 1TB of space without 20% of it being used upon install, which is equivalent to most any 2 or 3 AAA titles. Install is not difficult, however, unlike the Series X/S SSD expansions, this isn’t a simple plug and play. You need to remove the bottom plate (awkward; recommend watching a video), loosen a couple screws, align the SSD in it’s socket, and you’re about ready to rock. Takes a couple minutes to format, but nothing onerous. Once you have it formatted, decide what you want on it. Personally, I recommend keeping your multimedia apps (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc.) and any online games you might play regularly (Fortnite, World of Tanks, Apex, etc.) on the system’s SSD, and use the expansion for new game installs and PSNow games which will come and go. Enjoy your gaming!

Update m.2 firmware to get faster speed

Reading only the poor reviews for the Samsun 980 Pro and its "slow" read speeds on PS5 which ranges from 5400-5600 MB/s. The key is you have to update the firmware of the m.2 and then you'll be getting the faster read speeds. Now updating it isn't that simple...you have to do it on a PC that has a mobo with m.2 slots and use Samsun's Magician SSD software. I had a second m.2 slot on my mother board, plugged it in, my PC didn't see the drive because it needed to be initialized but Samsung Magician did see it and that's all that mattered. I had old firmware on it. Updated. Plugged back into my PS5 and I went from 5591 MB/s to 6481 MB/s which is pretty on par with the WD Black and a tiny bit slower than the Firecuda 530. So on sale, this SSD is a great value...throw in the $60 in rewards coupons I had and it was a very sweet deal.
