A: I don't know if it has a large enough capacity to hold all your photos and videos, so make sure you check that out. To answer your question, yes, you can use it as is. But unless you need to use it on both Mac and Windows, I would format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) in Disk Utility. Very simple. Just plug in the flash drive, open Disk Utility, select the flash drive's name on the left, click on Erase and choose GUID for the scheme and Mac OS Extended (journaled) for the format. Then click on Done when it's finished and that button appears. Then use the drive as usual.

A: No. Not directly. You would still need a micro USB to USB-A on-the-go (OTG) cable to be able to attach this full-size USB drive.

A: Yes. It is completely reverse compatible with 2.0 and 3.0 ports on your computer. However, you cannot achieve the highest read/write speeds as advertised. If you have large files like movies (1 GB and larger) you will be noticeably slower on a 2.0 port. Look for the "SS USB" port if available.
