Technology in flagship phones has platued. This Note 20 Ultra and the Z Fold 2 are probably the best flagship phones available in 2020. I have always liked the note series due to the powerhouse specs and option to use the s pen however due to the recall with the note 7 battery issues I kind of got on the Galaxy S series cycle. The last year and a half I have been using the S10+ Ceramic version. No phone since then has been compelling enough to want to upgrade until now.
Reasons most people might want to upgrade to this phone:
- You have large hands or don't mind using two hands for your phone.
- You are using a phone older than 2 years and want to upgrade to the latest and greatest.
Reasons you may not want to upgrade
- You do not like large phones and prefer something more manageable for one handed use.
- You have a note 10 or Galaxy S20+ in which case this will not seem like a drastic upgrade technology wise.
Reasons I like the note 20+ include:
- Beautiful vibrant screen with minimal front bezels.
- Expandable storage for micro sd card simply plug and play from my S10+
- Design and color combinations. This is probably the best looking Samsung phone to date.
- S pen (I like the instant screen write feature to take a quick note if needed and the softwares ability to select and convert any text on screen)
- Camera and photo quality is excellent.
Minor complaints or things that could be better
- Battery life is good enough for me and I have wireless chargers everywhere. Some power users might be disappointed but I can get through a full day for my use.
- Camera bump is large. Design wise it looks good but I don't like to uses cases and this phone just needs a case to level the camera bump out. I went with a clear tpu kickstand version that works out pretty well.
- Stylus location switched sides and rocker buttons moved all to the right side. I am getting used to both changes now however its still a change when you are used to it always being opposite on other samsung note and galaxy s phones.
- Stereo sound is loud and good enough but shrinking the bezels and ear piece speaker opening is a trade off for the amazing screen to body ratio. Boomsound from the old HTC phones were the best.
In short this is an amazing quality Samsung phone. Price is a little steep if you don't have a trade in or some other deal and you are buying it a full price.
If you have the $ and want the best current android phone option that has expandable storage then this is the phone to get!
If you really have the money and want the best wow factor bleeding edge technology phone and do not need expandable storage then go with the Z Fold 2.
If you want a really good android phone without breaking the bank, then there are plenty less expensive options that have been released over the last year or so including the Note 10+
I love this phone. I had the Note 3, 5, 8, & 9. Samsung Note phones are hands down the best phone on the market. Samsung puts the Smart in Smart phones.. It is the king of big screen phones. If you want to use a smart phone with a boat load of features here you go. First time user's DON'T be intimated. If you are tired of plucking the screen with your fingers, retyping missed keys try the stylist. Once you use the stylist and it's features you'll see. If you like to edit photo's, use photo apps you fine it a breeze. Its also great for notes, schedules, screen shots, PDF's, Business, Etc. Watch a YouTube review to help you see if needed. This phone and it's apps interfaces and sync's well with my laptop. I'm an old school Baby Boomer that likes electronics and tech. Below are photos I had edited. My brother send me a picture of his back yard. His neighbor cut all the trees down along the fence. He was bummed out. In five minutes I sent him a edited photo. It didn't replace the trees but gave him a good laugh..
Samsung why charge more for less features? No headphone jack, no iris scanner, no HR/O2 monitor, no LED notification, no IR blaster, no removable battery, wired AKG headphones & extra s-pen tips not included. 512 gb only available in black? Why no 40 megapixel front facing camera, better display & 4500 mAh battery like the S20 Ultra? Why move the S-Pen to the left side? The Note is supposed to be all powerful, everything phone, better than the S line and previous Notes. This is a nice looking phone but not worth full price. Some people may regret trading in older notes. If you have an older phone with cracked screen, poor performance then upgrade.
*Many complaints on battery performance and camera lens. Some users have purchased lemons.
Amazing phone!!! This is the first time I have truly been impressed with any phone's camera! First night I had the phone I took a zoomed picture of the moon that was almost as perfect as with a professional camera!
Fantastic cameras, great screen, S Pen. Apps...
This is one capable machine. Yes, it is worth the money. Buy it.
The cameras a supremely capable. The variable zoom shots of the Moon were amazing, if you've ever tried to take pics of the Moon with your phone, you know what I mean.
That splotchy small disk, is Mars. On a cell phone camera. Hand held. At an airport.
The picture of the features of the 30th Street Station in Philly shows great balance and detail.
Buy this phone!
I will love this as much as my note 8 once I'm used to some of the changes. It has the same awesome features as the 8, with a few more bells and whistles. The screen is awesome and the phone takes even better photos than the 8. I haven't been anywhere with 5G, so I can't comment on that change.
Cons: I'm not thrilled with the front screen fingerprint sensor. Its a little awkward and not as sensitive as the one on the 8, but I'm glad its moved away from the camera lens. The camera bump is kind of extreme, and is a worry as far as scratching goes. Most cases I've looked at are flush with the lens, so I'm a little worried. I ordered a screen protector for the bump and hoping it doesn't interfere with image quality. The curved screen presents the standard screen protector issues. Otterbox cases lift it so I had to replace it 3 times. On the third, I chose a different case. Also a little bummed that the S Note app has been replaced with Samsung note. Limits creativity, so I had to download a different drawing app, but none as good as the original app.
Overall, the phone is pretty awesome.

I "upgraded" from a Note9 to the Note 20 Ultra. Now I've been reading a lot of reviews, and I have heard that the Note9 is the best phone that Samsung has ever made, and at the moment, it may not have been the best time to upgrade. Except I found a sale that made sense.
With that said, I have no problems with the Note 20 Ultra, and it does at least everything equally as well as my previous phone, so I will say it is a good phone. If you're upgrading from an older model or another brand, then it's worth it! If you find a sale price that makes it fit your budget, then it's worth it! I know my Note9 battery was beginning to show signs of age so I'm happy with my purchase. If it's full price and you're decently satisfied with your current phone, then I would wait for the next sale.
Have only had the phone for a few days, but so far, I'm really liking it. Phone is definitely larger than my Galaxy S9, but in no way cumbersome. Screen colors are amazing. Updated camera has so many features - I'm still studying those. Didn't know if I'd like the stylus or not, but after just a couple of days, I'd give it a thumbs up. The stylus tucks away neatly and securely in the phone. (Wish Samsung would have done that on their Tab S4 tablet).
There a couple of downsides. One is using your fingerprint to open the phone. I had a screen protector put on when I picked up the phone and then registered my fingerprint when I got home. Because of the screen protector, it seems like it's harder to recognize my fingerprint. It takes a couple of tries before I can open the phone. But the face recognition works pretty well.
The other downside is having to simultaneously press and hold two buttons to power off the phone. It's hard to hold down both buttons with just one finger. Although if you swipe down from the top, there's an "power off" button you can touch and that will turn the phone off. But you can't just press and hold one button to power off the phone.
But overall, I'm very satisfied with it. Excellent customer service with Best Buy. The associate answered all my questions. Would recommend.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Is a Super Phone Finally Worthy of Its Name
When Samsung released the Galaxy S20 Ultra at $1,400, it felt like Samsung was trying to push its super-premium phones into a whole new tier, a tier that would justify its obscene $1,400 price tag. However, even though the S20 Ultra had a giantFull Review

A:AnswerYes, just like the Galaxy s20 series, you can have anotification LED. But there some steps you'll have to do to enable that function. Here is a guide, it's for the S20, but the procedure is exactly the same for the Note 20 series https://www.phonearena.com/news/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra-notification-light_id122379
A:AnswerI have gotten 8-12 hours out of my Note 20 Ultra, with moderate use and playing music over Bluetooth most days. as an example, today I unplugged it when I got out of bed at 8 AM, and it is now 4:22 PM and my batter is at 34%. Have used it for work authentication, reviewing news, playing Simpsons, Facebook and Pandora. I don't expect to plug it in until about 9 pm or 5% which ever comes earlier
Hope this helps. I love the phone, went from an S8+ to the Note 20 Ultra and couldn't be happier.
