Works as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my watch! I wear it daily and my only complaints are Samsung Pay (which was advertised as being compatible with gear s2) is not available. The battery doesn't last as long as I expected. I usually get about 36 hours or less depending on use and The S voice to respond to text messaging is horrible. Often times it doesn't work

Gearing it up with my watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hadn’t worn a wrist watch in over 15 years due to CTS on both wrists. When I saw & read the features I had to get it. I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which works extremely well with my Gear S2. I can easily customize my Gear S2 & is user friendly. It is not heavy on the wrist. I purchased different bands to match my outfits from Amaz**. It is easy to change the bands. Battery life will vary. If you don't get alot of emails and text messages the battery life will last all day. If you do, the battery life will last about 4-5 hours. I also purchased from Amaz** 3 more chargers (for work, home & car). It charges rather quickly. I like the fact I don't have to have my cell phone on me or near me for the Gear S2 to function. Only regret, I wish I got the white one. I get many compliments.

Its nifty but not essential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this knowing that it wouldn't revolutionize my life, and it hasn't. It works well and the battery lasts me about two days under normal use. Disabling unnecessary notifications is critical to saving battery life, along with turning down the screen brightness. It's nice to be able to check a watch when an email or txt arrives rather than going to a phone across the room or in a briefcase. Typing on a watch is pointless but you can if you really need to. Using it as a phone is nice while being away from the phone but the call forwarding confuses me and I still can't get it to work the way I want it to.

Good quality, good performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear S2 watch is well made in every way that counts. It can take a good beating, the watch face is very accurate to the touch, waterproofing is excellent. The call quality is far better than I thought it would be when used independently, it's downright good. It's a bettereally speaker phone than a phone as it more accurately drowns out noise that isn't you talking. It's a bit pricey, but if you are someone that does a lot outside, like mountain biking, you should really consider getting one of these since it can be used in lieu of a phone. That could be the difference between a broken or soaked phone and just a watch with some water on it.

God starter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first "smart" watch. It took some time for me to get it set up and get the hang of using it but then again I'm not 6 any more and naturally adept with modern technology. That said, once I got into the swing of it the watch proved relatively intuitive and became easier to use. I do like that it cane be used to send and receive messages of all kinds even if you happen to leave your phone behind. Now I only feel half naked if I forget my cell phone. If I do have my phone with me I turn off the notification feature as this watch tends to eat battery life like a hungry zombie. Overall a good buy for me.

Great watch that has it's own phone number
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great watch with it's own "dedicated number", but I call forwarded my cell phone to it and now get calls from both. I also ported over my magic jack number thru Verizon and my personal "contact information" did not change. The best part is I don't have to physically carry my cell phone everywhere anymore. (oops... I left my cell at home... no problem receiving my calls) I gave it only 4 starts (-1) because the battery life is not as advertised. I get a full 12 hour day with about an hour of calls but that will drain the battery to 20% or less.

Works great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it for the most part. I do wish that it had a few more options for apps but I love that if I need to charge my phone (which happens quite often being up from 7am to midnight or later) I can still make calls and texts without having to stay where my phone is which isn't possible sometimes. I have taken it in the pool and it survived no problem. It sometimes irritates my skin when its hot out but that is probably just my sensitive skin.

Mixed, but overall excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to see the names and map when I walked. The paths have no street names and when walking it was important to know how many miles I walked. The map was too light and the print was too small to read. I however learned it was a stand alone telephone. Before I would lose the call by the time I got the devise from by backpack and was afraid of propping it from my pocket. The ability to receive calls and getting a pulse reading enabled me (after my operation) to return my long walks. I love my watch/phone.

Q: QuestionCan I make and receive phone calls with watch only?
Asked by Sam Gal.
- A:Answer Yes, it works great. You don't have to have your cell phone even with you. It works as a stand alone, you just need to forward your cell number to your Samsung watch (may need to be with Verizon).
