SanDisk - Solid State Drive Conversion Kit

I watched the video on how it was used and thought it could'n't be that easy but I needed to do it anyway. Once I got into it I realized I was half way done. Awesome tool!

The kit made the job of duplicating the hard drive a snap. The part for mounting the SSD didn't work or fit. it was still worth buying for the software and cables.

Use this kit to install a Samsung 1TB SSD to my Dell XPS8700 desktop. Installation was very smooth with the kit. One thing is not very sure when to use the disc. I used the Samsung software coming with SSD instead of the one included in this kit.

This was a very easy process. It does take a while to boot and at the main menu it asks if you want to download the newest version or use the disc copy, but when you select the download option you get an error. Not a big deal though. I had about 129GB to transfer to my new hard drive and it took about 3 hours.

It was very easy to migrate from a smaller disk drive to a larger one for my laptop. There was a little problem with the display when it blanked out and was not showing anything, but restarting it worked.

While the hardware worked admirably, the software did not. I ended up having to go with other software to clone the drive. What happened with the software? It started cloning immediately instead after a restart to run its own startup program. This, of course, did not allow complete cloning of the drive. Still, the hardware made the process worthwhile, at least for me.

This product is just right for the retrofit of my new SSD drive. The cd that came with it , I didn't have to use it coz there's one that came with the SSD kit. But I'm sure it works just fine if you choose to use it.

I was surprised with the product's quality. The price was right and it was a breeze to install and use.
