Not Quite Sennheiser Quality - Cell Phones Only

These headphones are decent, for what they are. If they were 100 or even 120 dollars cheaper, they'd be a great deal and a great pair of headphones. The build quality is what you'd expect from Sennheiser, the battery life is really great, and overall they're quite good. However, I ran into a few problems when using them with my PC. Number one, after extended use sessions (3-8 hours plus) my ears and the top of my head began to REALLY hurt. The cups on the cans (portion that goes over your ear) are quite small, very difficult to keep comfortably on your ears for any extended periods. Just a slight increase in size would make a world of difference here. Number two, I found that when using them with my PC especially I received a NUMBER of audio artifacts when listening to anything below lossless or 320kbps quality. Streams, youtube, and most kinds of music created weird audio distortions when I was watching at less than the highest quality settings (audiably speaking). Finally, last but not least, there's the specific pain it created in the top of my head over time. I don't know if it's the specific mechanism of action squeezing the headphones onto your head, the leather support on the top, or just its specific size compared to my head's, but it would create horrible headaches which would last for hours, as I used these about 6 hours a day. All that said, if you're looking for something to use on the go with your phone, it's a decent option. If you're looking for any high quality audio...I'd look elsewhere. PS--other than the long term comfort, if I was using these for only an hour at a time they were quite comfortable (although very hot), and the noise cancelling seemed to mess with audio quality even worse when it's on--and if you're using them wirelessly I found no way to turn the noise cancelling off.

I bought mainly to use at the gym. Good: sounds good, not great. Good Sennheiser app to control headphones. Multi-point feature, lets your can be connected to 2 device at once, is awesome. I really like this feature because I have 2 phones. Noise cancelling is good at this price point. Skip songs toggle is much better than double pressing or triple pressing on other headphones. Bad: To turn the noise cancelling off, you have to press the volume up and down at the same time. Its a pain. You almost always have to take the headphones off. I think I have an average size head and the headphones was very tight out of the box for me. I actually put them on a small ball, when not in use, for a week hoping to break them in. Btw this was suggested in the manual. Still tight after a week. The top of the head band has such little cushion that it constantly rubbed on top of my head and I could feel the metal. It was a good headphone with good features at a good price ($139 on sale). But, it was just so uncomfortable on me. I do think this might be relative and may be ok for someone else. The nc on/off was just crazy stupid. I returned these headphones.

These are my second set of Sennheiser BT headphones. I bought a set of 4.40's that I carry between work and home. After forgetting them a few times, I decided to buy a set for each place. When I went back, they no longer had the 4.40's, but the new 4.50's. I am pleasantly surprised by these headphones. I did comparisons between these, B&W's, Bose, B&O, JBL, and Masters & Dynamics, all in the price range of $125.00 through $400.00. I also talked to some of the folks in the Magnolia room. For the money, I settled on these because of the great sound for the price. I paid $175.00 for these. I have to admit, some of the headphones sounded a little better, including the Sennheiser HD1 and PXC-550. But I didn't feel like they sounded so much more for the price. These headphones have great sound, clear audio, and the bass is much tighter than the 4.40's I have. I love these headphones, and I highly recommend them.

I was looking for sound quality to match my decade+ old pair of AKG Pro headphones but give me the ability to wirelessly connect with modern sound sources in the process. After looking at a a few options, I settled on this model. The brand is one that I've been familiar with for nearly 30 years, having at one point a long time ago grabbed a set of phones meant to be a significant upgrade to the ones shipped by Sony with a WalkMan. These did not disappoint. I found them comfortable to wear with good sound and reasonable range and excellent battery life. The quibble I would have is that they do seem to get a bit "warm" on your ears after a long enough time. the closed back does reduce outside annoyance and the pads are a dense comfortable foam, but that does lead to not much "air" getting in to counter a little sweating under the leather covering of the cup. All told? good value for the money.

This is going to sound crazy, but these paled in comparison to the Beats Solo3 I've owned for a while now. I wanted to try a good pair of over ear headphones and thought I couldn't go wrong with Sennheiser. The noise cancelling only muted very ambient noises (cars passing outside). I could barely tell when the feature was activated or not. The sound was the most disappointing. I'm by no means an audiophile, but I know what sounds good and what doesn't. I tried toying with the EQ on the app and that only helped things marginally. Also if you have bigger ears, these will fit more like on ear headphones. My ears are smaller and I still had to tuck them into the ear cups. The only positive thing I can say about these cans is that the build quality is excellent for being all plastic. Doesn't feel cheap and creaky like the Solo3's that I own.

I spent 2 months reviewing headphones and for my tastes it was down to this and the Sony 950. Listened to both in the store and thought the Senneissers gave clearer sound... wasn't heavy with bass and saw that I could adjust the bass with the app. Bought it and was disappointed. The volume was low. Even at max vol on the device and music source. Downloaded the app and played with those settings.... not much difference. Plugging the headphones in did give a slight boost but it's not enough for me to want to keep them. I have returned them. The noise cancellation is great though! These are great headphones but I want something with a little more full powerful sound. I know there are others but this was my price range.

I listened to both Dre Beats and Sony headphones and found the initial quality equal to all in the same price range. I feel the Dre Beats are good but too much base is the subject, the sony were ok. The Sennheiser was overall the best of balanced sound and noise cancelling. Fit and comfort are also acceptable. Ease of use is the same as any other Bluetooth set. I def recommend these if you are a music lover and not just a thump thump bass listener.

So I’m very peculiar on comfort and sound. I’ve gone through so many headphones like I do with underwear. Some don’t fit right, the sound quality isn’t all there, etc. I’ve gone through so many pairs looking for the right one and I finally found them. I’ve tried, Sony, Jabra, and I just now recently just traded in my Bose Quiet Comfort 35 for these. These by far have much better acoustics than anything I’ve tried. I’m very happy with them!!
