This game has impressive graphics and it does a good job at doing what is probably the most important thing, making you scared. The environments and music help make this game genually creepy and depressing. There are a few good "jump" moments, but overall, the game does a far better job at scarying you by creating a sene of impending doom rather that making you jump out of your seat. Unfortanetly, the games biggest downfall is the combat. Instead of making run in fear of the mosters, (much the movie) the character you play as is very strong and can kill just about any of the creatures in this game with little or no effort. I was very unimpressed with the wealth of ammo and health packs that are in the game. Becuase it is so easy to bring down some of the monsters, the game eventually becomes more of an action game than a creepy one. As scary as this games is, it would have been absolutely terrifying if the creatures were more intimidating and mencaing.

I just played this game for few hours after I finally got it from my BB and man am I amazed. Not without a reason this game is called homecoming. It is going back to the roots with disturbing music, classic horror movies sequences, story telling and monsters (pyramid head is back - sick!!!). Like I said I didn't get that much into the game but so far it is amazing, graphics are a big jump from 4th installment, atmosphere is exactly the same as it was in second (my favorite so far) and basically the whole game gives you a goose bumps from the beginning (the hospital reminds me of prison cells in Hellraiser VI:Hellseeker and a switch between normal/haunted city is straight from the movie (which I think was the best transition ever). This game is made to be played with at least 5.1 system and definitely in the dark to have effect it was intended. Just wait untill that bass kicks in sending waves throughout your house. A must buy for horror fans!

ok so i like this game and it kinda scared me ( dont play alone in a dark room) monsters just jump out from nowwhere, i also thought it was a little hard because i got stuck alot but i used a walkthrough on those parts and it worked fine, its a little bit too dark even with alexs flashlight on but it truly was a creative game i would definetly recommend it alot of people at my high school play it...alot!

This game was lacking in almost everything I find amusing about Silent Hill. By now we should have jaw dropping graphics and should have learned that gameplay needs to be more productive and less irritating. From the start of the game to the end this game serves nothing but load after load of disappointment and failure. From the button mashing over and over again for one simple task to the fact that it doesn't hold onto you like all other Silent Hills. I almost laughed playing this, not once was I scared. And it was too short to become even remotely interesting. I would rather play an atari game then this game anyday, and thats saying something.

I am a huge Silent Hill fan, so i was excited to play this. Overall i think this game is great. It was fun the entire why through, as well as very creepy. I loved the new characters/monsters. The only downside is the puzzles. In the previous games, solving and figuring things out played a huge role, and not so much in this game. But it doesn't really take away from the overall fun you'll have. I definitely recommend playing this game, you won't regret it! PLAY AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS OFF!

I had high exceptions for this game and was pretty let down. The levels are pretty locked down so you can't get lost or miss something and the game play isn't that great.
