|Posted .Skullcandy - Push In-Ear True Wireless Sport Headphones The version being tested is V1.5; Firmware V3.2.23, summer 2020 I’ve tried wireless (literally, no wires between earbuds or phone) earbuds before. Unfortunately, those previous efforts proved too frustrating to establish reliable Bluetooth connections. These Skullcandy earbuds are the easiest to connect of any other wireless earbuds I’ve used. Skullcandy’s App, is pretty limited in its functions, but it makes setup and achieving a reliable connection a breeze. I’ll get into details below, but spoiler …. very nice sound, but with comfort issues for me. SETUP: Before you do anything else, install the Skullcandy App on your phone (iOS or Android). The App provides the most readable, most convenient, and most complete instructions. You’ll be directed to connect to Bluetooth, and the result is quick and repeatable. Low frustration. There are 3 buttons on both earbuds that control every function. Redundancy that’s useful. It also means Skullcandy can enable a mono, single-earbud-only feature if you want to use only one earbud with full feature control. They both are fully functional as mono earbuds or stereo, and the earbuds know when one is being used, as long as you place the unused earbud back in the case. The case is reasonably sized, but it’s a bit bulky for a pocket. It’s soft-touch and zippered closed for a reliable storage and charging solution. The case can be charged by the included cable as well as a charging plate. Although a longer button press turns off the earbuds, simply placing them back in the case does the same thing, and begins the charging process. SOUND and COMFORT and USABILITY: Great and Not Great and Very Good I really liked the sound quality. Very nicely balanced, broad tonal range with no extraordinary emphasis on any frequency. A button sequence gives you a “Music or Movie or Podcast” sound contour. This is an easy to get used to earbud with everything I listened to sounding enjoyable. I can easily recommend the Skullcandy based on sound, and my wife’s very favorable response to these earbuds suggests to me that they will be liked by others, also. I really didn’t ever get completely comfortable with how these earbuds felt. They are very nicely designed and I love the way the supporting “hook” can be adjusted to ensure a snug and reliable fit. These earbuds, although unique in their style, remind me of the original wired Apple earbuds (if you add that “hook”). The material is a bit hard, designed to rest (as opposed to pushed) in the outer ear structure, and shaped so the sound is aimed down the ear canal without a tight fit. My wife has good luck with this design. Oddly, my left ear accommodated to the feel eventually. My right ear was never happy with the feel. I know; it’s me. My wife will lay claim to these. This is a reminder that personal comfort and a good return policy is important. My wife won’t let me send these back, but try them out for yourself. That very easy and fast Bluetooth connection was repeatable and reliable. I did have occasional, very brief (1-2 second) sound interruptions that needed no intervention from me to get back to normal playing. Other Features: Bluetooth Version 5.0 # IP67-rated for protection against water, dust, and sweat. # Skullcandy includes access to TILE software and you have a pretty effective “FIND MY EARBUDS” feature. For no added charge there is a basic TILE functionality to send a warbling sound to the earbuds so you can find where they’ve fallen. # Charging times:1 hour to charge earbuds in the case to 100%; 2 hours for the case to charge to 100%.. # Play Times: 6+ hours for earbuds; 10 minutes of charge provides 2+ hours’s of play time. Keep the charge/storage case with you because there is 34+ hours of additional playtime available in the case before it needs recharging. SUMMARY: There’s a lot to like about these earbuds. The sound quality is very pleasing and encourages long-term listening. Set-up and connectivity is fast and easy. TILE “Find My Earbuds” is thrown in as an added feature. The stability of that connection is mostly reliable, although I had some infrequent, very short, self-correcting, sound hiccups. If I have any reservations, it’s about comfort. But, this should not be a surprise. Earbuds especially, and especially of this design, are completely dependent on how your ear anatomy matches with this shape. Skullcandy has a one-size fits all design, that may not fit everyone. I can recommend them on sound quality, but you will want to try them on for fit.

Great style, rests in-ear not in canal
|Posted .The Skullcandy was a fresh change from your average in-ear headphones that are on the market now-a-days, the one thing that stood out to me about these headphones is that they do not have the little silicon bits that go into the ear canal. I have several pairs of that type, and can get a little annoying wearing them for long periods of time. The Push Ultra were easy to pair and at first sat a little odd on my ear, this is mostly my fault as you can really bend the ear hook to fit your ear! Once I started playing with this hook the fit became a lot more comfortable. I do prefer this sort of headphones because I can listen to music for long periods while working, which is typically one at a time. Audio quality overall is decent, that is the one difference between these and those that sit in canal, has it's ups and down, but if you are looking into this sorta headphone you aren't expecting noise cancelling. For me I use them a bit while sitting at my workstation so it helps to not disconnect me from what I am doing, while keeping my music to myself. The one thing that kinda bugs me is the skullcandy app, the app searches for your headphones every time I open it, instead of keeping paired headphones known(At least in my experience). It does find my headphones, only a couple times has it hiccuped and tried to make me re-pair my headphones, I just close the app and reopen it. Other than that, when you go into the app it says equalizer and shows you the mode, but does not allow you to change anything about this mode or create a custom if you would like. For the most part I am simply just going to use the headphones and keep the app closed leaving it in my app drawer. I do like that once paired, you can have a controls walk through which helps if you're curious about the buttons. Speaking of, that made me think of the fact that there is no customizing the buttons(that I can see), just in case you may have that question. Lastly the case, which charges your headphones, I do like that it zips up and keeps your headphones safe and clean, for me I toss the case into my backpack, but it's nice to know they are sealed. The case is nice and compact, the headphones fit right in, there just isn't any wiggle room, so putting them back in the case will change the mold on the earhooks a little causing me to remold them again, this isn't that big of a deal, it just brings up the thought in the back of my head is how many times can I remold them, would there be an eventual wear and tear on these that cause the hook to become flimsy? So far no signs of that but it is a question. Overall I really like the headphones, they really work for my purpose and are light enough that they do not bother me over a long period of time. As mentioned before, I love that these are in ear, not in the canal like most headphones now. Skullcandy does have some slighlty less expensive in-ear headphone with that if you are looking for, the price on this whole line of new headphones is great, I honestly wouldn't mind trying the others at their price point! I would definitely recommend to my friend checking out the skullcandy headphones and see which fits their needs as they will likely find one at a great price!

Nice for the Price
|Posted .The Skullcandy - Push Ultra In-Ear True Wireless Sport Headphones in black are pretty nice for the price. First, I really appreciate that the case that they charge is appears to be very secure because it is a hard surface coated with a sort or rubberized material. So this would lend itself to protect from moisture and liquid, however, I did not immerse it in water so I have no idea how that would go and I would not advise that. Also, while I did not take a hammer and pound on the case cover, I did take the heel of my hand and knock on the case without any injury to the inside contents. Side note, the initial charging in the case was quick and simple and then the case will continue to provide charging without being connected. Now I did not use it this long, but the box states that the earbuds will go 6 hours and the case will provide 34 hours of charging for a total of 40 hours. In fact, the box states that 10 minutes of charging in the case creates 2 hours of usable battery. I can say that the Bluetooth ability of these buds is beautiful and was so easy peasy. One of the greatest features is that the user can use either bud solo. I have a 2 year old set of Sony wireless, noise canceling, stereo earbuds also in a charging case that the Bluetooth connection happens only through the left earbud and that earbud has stopped working. So, even though the right earbud is fine, I cannot use this set in any configuration at all, what a waste of money, a real bummer. This situation will not be the case here. Second, the ear hooks are truly moldable around your ear and you can adjust them however you need to to make sure that they are secure and will go the distance with whatever you happen to be doing. However, these the earbud construction of these does not lend itself to different size rubber tips for a user's earhole size and it is basically a one size fits all push in Third, they say that there is a 2 year warranty, great, versus the 1 year warranty on the fancy Sony ones that I mentioned above. That makes me very happy and there are full controls on each earbud so that is great too!. Obviously, I cannot predict what will happen as time marches on, but in my opinion, since they are issuing a 2 year warranty, the manufacturer must have confidence in their product and that it will make the grade and survive the test of time.

Great for workouts and long walks on the beach...
|Posted .--- SETUP --- The setup for the Skullcandy Push Ultra earbuds was quick and easy. Just connect the small 6 inch USB C cable to the case, which doubles as a charger, place them in the case for about five seconds, and remove them from the case. They will turn on and pair with each other. From there, just turn on your bluetooth on your mobile device and find the Push Ultra option to connect. --- FEATURES --- The key features of this nifty pair of earbuds are the 10 minute quick charge (2 hrs), IP67 (sweat and waterproof), wireless charging case, and a built-in Tile (to find the earbuds if lost). The total time of usage is 6 hours, but if you place them in the case, you can charge them up to six times for a total of 40 hours combined before having to recharge them again at an outlet. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance of these earbuds is awesome. I had no trouble connecting the earbuds and they feel comfortable when wearing them. The ear loops can be adjusted to hug your ear for a tighter or looser fit. There are three pre-set equalizer modes: podcast, music, and movie modes. If you download the Skullcandy app, you can see these modes visually, but you can’t modify them. The app leaves a lot to be desired. You can hear what mode you are on by pressing the main button twice and then holding it for two seconds. The case is flexible but sturdy with a slick design. The most unique feature is the built-in Tile functionality. What it does is, by downloading the Tile app, you can create a free account with them and if you ever lose one or both earbuds, you can find them with the Tile app. The earbuds will start chirping and your phone will give you a general direction of where they may be. If you leave them behind somewhere out of your house, other Tile owners can find them for you and notify you via the app. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product meets my expectations. I had an issue pairing up the left earbud to the Tile app. When I finally was successful, only the right side would work to find it. That wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but it’s something worth mentioning if you are looking forward to this feature. Audiowise, I was really enjoying listening to my podcasts in podcast mode as well as watching movies while I was lying in bed not wanting to disturb others in the house. As far as music goes, these are stereo earbuds, so there is no deep base, but the performance is still good enough to enjoy. --- VALUE --- The price for the Skullcandy earbuds in terms of value is acceptable for what it offers and what is capable of. A standalone Tile device is worth 24.99, so factor that into the price of these earbuds. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who love working out while listening to podcasts or music. Also, the limited features make it ideal for those people who don’t care about extra bells and whistles if they don’t want to deal with them. They function as great bluetooth earbuds if that’s all you want from them.

Best Workout Earbuds
|Posted .These earbuds are by far the best earbuds i have ever owned. The sound quality is loud, clear and crisp. The earbuds have moldable ear hooks which keep the buds in place while you work out and are also sweat proof. The ear buds also come with an amazing built in feature. These ear buds have "Tile" built-in, so in case you misplace the headphone, the "Tile" feature shows you sort of like a radar on your phone to be able to locate them. The earbuds also come with an amazing 40 battery life with the rechargeable case. Both ear buds have volume controls so your not fumbling around to find the volume button while working out and just in case if you need to answer a phone call, there is also a built in microphone to take or make your calls. All in all the best earbuds ever. Pros- Built in TILE Moldable Ear Hooks 6 hour Battery in Buds 34 hours Battery in Case Rapid Charge 10 minutes = 2 hours Sweat, water and dust proof Volume Control on Both Buds Cons- Nothing that i could find so far

Not good, but not bad either.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Overall l want to give ot about a 3.5. I bought these because theu were on sale for $50 if i remember righ and Skullcandy has been a popular brand since l was little. Upsides are they can bend into the curves of my ear. That’s about it for upsides. As for audio quality l could buy a simple 10 dollar pair of earbuds and get the same audio/I have those earbuds. Battery life is nice, but the charging case could have been made better to show a digital readout of the cases current battery life and also have a indicator of current battery level on the earbuds. For some reason every time l check the battery life of my earbuds one will say 50% and the other will show 90%. Every, single, time. I don't know why and it does not make sense. Comfort level is great for at least an hour of wearing them. I do not wear them or rarely wear them any longer than that. In the end, especially because of the price, l woupd recommend everyone avoid these and look for a different brand unless these are on sale for 50 bucks or less.

Doesn't quite fit the bill
|Posted .Skullcandy push ultra comes in to a market that's already flooded with so many competitors that are trying to push true wireless earbuds for everyday activities and workouts. In a market so saturated with quality and affordability these earbuds crashed and burned at their attempt with this flagship. Lets dive in and see what they attempted and if the execution matched the attempt. First off let's talk about the basics, which are what you can expect to receive out of the box and my first impressions. Out of the box your going to receive the earbuds, case/charging dock, usb-c cable, and a set of basic instructions. My first impression of these buds was that i actually thought they looked simplistic yet still carried a slight elegance about them so that they didn't appear to be too cheap. I was a little disappointed to see that they were not actual ear buds, as in they go inside the ear canal, but rather they sit outside the ear canal resting on the bridge instead. Once i saw this set up i already knew audio quality wouldn't be superb, but that's ok cause i don't expect studio quality from wireless ear buds anyways. Set up was very easy and you are provided a free app to assist in this category. The earbuds did fit very securely around the ear and were probably one of the best fitting earbuds i have worn during a gym workout. Battery life was good and yielded me about 2 hours of run time pending my settings and how i used them. Audio quality was just what i expected it to be. It was decent. High hats and mids along with my vocals came through just fine with decent clarity and bass was not there as was to be expected. During a workout at the gym i got a lot of noise pollution entering through the earbuds. Since this set up doesn't actually fit inside the ear canal or cover your ears completely like a over the ear set up, you get a lot of noise pollution coming in and drowning out your music. All i know is that i heard less of the music i was playing and more of what Tony at the gym was planning after work. So why the 1 star review? When testing this product i put it up against 5 other "true wireless earbuds" and tested it against functionality and performance. First off lets talk about this app and how it feels like its still in Alpha stage. As of writing this review there is almost no point in having the app and is personally a waste of space. It basically is a place to go if you need instructions or wanna buy more Skullcandy product. There is no built in audio pre-sets, no equalizer, no HUD, no volume controls, heck you can't even see current battery health. But hey who needs a app to help fine tune a product anyways right? I mean after all it should be battle ready out of the box right? First off there were two big issues i noticed right away. The Bluetooth audio kept losing connection. And yes i checked all my pre-requisites on my end when trying to keep the connection. One earbud would be connected to my music while the other would be dropping out. Since most earbuds piggyback off the other i knew this had to be a issue with earbuds themselves vs a issue with my device. When my earbuds finally gave out and it came time to charge them this is were i noticed my second issue and big headache. I went to put the earbuds in the case to charge and you could feel the magnets pull the charging tabs to meet so they could charge the earbuds. The earbuds would light up red for a few minutes then they would cut out. I noticed they were not making good connection and that i actually had to physically apply slight pressure in order to get them to register so they could charge. The charging ports on the earbuds are these two tiny holes that the case needles have to thread through in order to make a good contact point. What i don't understand is why they didn't use a strip instead of two tiny holes making contact an obvious issue for the buds as charging could only be done if slight pressure was applied to help keep the connection. Oh and you cant charge the unit with the case closed, it has to be opened or it won't charge at all. It became so annoying that i eventually gave up on them the next time they died out and ended up just grabbing another earbud set i owned. Since these earbuds don't actually go in the earbud there is no earbud adapters to fit your ear size. This unit is basically a one size fits all kinda deal. Here's the bottom line guys. I like Skullcandy alot. One of their best headsets and one i still use alot to this day is their Skullcandy Crusher noise canceling headset. I really wanted to like this set up but when you go from their previous push design to this, you can see a very big difference in quality. This wireless earbud set almost feels incomplete and doesn't hold a torch to the previous push design. Besides the fact that audio quality is average at best and you get lots of noise pollution entering through. Its hard to ignore the lack of a useful app set up and a horrible charging dock. If your ok with random dropouts, noise pollution and the occasional struggle just to get it to charge, then grab yourself a set. But for those of us on the go who just got home from a long day of work and is just trying to get a workout or run in to help unwind, the last you want is aggravation from your headset. Listen at this price point there are plenty of other earbuds out there that sound better and function better. Heck pick up Skullcandy's previous push earbuds. Those ones worked and sounded better. For me this is a hard pass.

Excellent In-Ear True Wireless Sport Headphones!
|Posted .Skullcandy - Push In-Ear True Wireless Sport Headphones setup is quick and easy. It came with True wireless earbuds, wireless charging cable, USB-C charging cable, 2-year warranty card and user guide. I was able to connect my iPhone quickly using Bluetooth. I am using these headphones every day as it was so much convenient while running / biking due to long battery life around 6 hours. The headphones feel good while wearing and well built. The buttons are very easy to use for play, pause, and volume adjustments. These headphones are sweatproof, dustproof, and waterproof and can be used during workouts and hiking without any issues. “Find my Earbuds” using Tile is a nice feature. These earbuds can be used together or solo. Both earbuds offer full controls. The sound quality is amazing and this headphone is very comfortable to wear and lightweight. The battery is great and providing close to 6 hours and the wireless carrying case provides an additional 34 hours. The rapid charge is a nice feature and it allowed to charge the earbuds quickly. With the rapid charge, 2 hours playback can be achieved with 10 mins charges. I use this headphone all day during work and workout. It is one of the best In-Ear True wireless sport headphones owned by me and another outstanding product from Skullcandy. This is my first product from Skullcandy and will definitely buy other Skullcandy products in the near future.
