A: AnswerThe price is technically the same as the first generation. Sonos raised the prices on all of their products last week...so the new price for this Beam reflects that. This Beam has a more powerful processor vs. the original and can play sound in Dolby Atmos. The original Beam does not.Answered by Jeremiah
- A: AnswerIt really helped me. I’m 71 years old and have worn hearing aids for over 15 years. I can now understand dialogue much more clearly at a volume that doesn’t drive my wife out of the room. Background music that plays during so many TV shows is also less of a problem.

- A: AnswerThank you for your question. The Beam does us HDMI to plug into the tv. It can plug into standard ARC or eARC. To get the most out of your home theater experience with Beam, you'll want to make sure to plug your Beam into ARC or eARC and switch the other components to other HDMI ports. You can plug into optical and still great great sound however, optical doesn't support Dolby Atmos.

Worth the upgrade from Gen 1
Owned for 1 week by when reviewed.The Sonos Beam gen 2 is a fantastic soundbar! I own the Beam gen 1 but stopped using it as a soundbar since it doesn't support Atmos, and I'm so glad I upgraded to the gen 2. Just like other Sonos products, it was really easy to set up. It's a great addition to my home theater system. It has a sleek and modern look that's pretty unobtrusive and fits nicely in front of my TV. It also supports Dolby Atmos which makes audio noticeably more immersive. Although the Beam sounds excellent by itself, if it's in your budget, I highly recommend pairing it with a pair of Era 100s (or 300s) as rear surrounds. The first time I played an atmos song through the whole setup I was at a loss for words and I can't really do it justice.

Highly recommended!
Owned for 3 weeks by when reviewed.It works amazingly. We live in a spacious apartment and it sounds amazing. The set up is a bit tedious but definitely worth it. Can be used with or without the subwoofer. We’re choosing to get it soon since we enjoy a lot of bass but the speaker itself without it sounds spectacular. Worth the price. Plays music and movies beautifully.

Sounds great but having minor issues
Owned for 8 months by when reviewed.i would give it 5 stars but I cant figure out why my soundbar keeps cutting off. I have to payse the movie or show thatbim watxhing in order to get the sound to come back on. I switched from wifi to Ethernet cable thinking maybe itnis my internet but its still doing it. Other than rhat its a great sound bar. I want ti get the subwoofer to gonwith it.
