Leonard Nimoy was the best and I miss him! Great man

I am a huge Star Trek fan of all of the series spinoffs as well as the Original series. This movie was very well received when it was released to theaters. When it came to DVD, it contained extra footage not seen in the theatrical release, and that was what made it a very boring film to watch. When the Blu-ray title was announced the first thing I looked at was the running time, and I found that they had not included the extended version on this release. On a grand scale the movie is an excuse to take us on a tour of the new version of the Enterprise, while the understory is about a lost satellite. If you are a fan of Star Trek, no collection would be complete without this film.

About the best thing that can be said about the first Trek movie was the soundtrack was memorable (Ilia's Theme and the Klingon theme being noteworthy) and the special effects were a leap forward from the series. However, the movie itself was at least 20 minutes too long with far too much time spent admiring the Enterprise in space dock. The Starfleet uniforms were sorely out of place. But we get to see the original crew of Enterprise reunited for later (and better)adventures.
