As a fan of the Star Wars franchise since its original release waaaay back in 1977, my opinions on all things related to that galaxy far, far away tend to be a bit biased. That said, there is no fandom more critical of its source franchise than Star Wars fans. I am NOT that fan that would buy a pile of brown waste simply because it's called "Bantha Poodoo" and has the Star Wars header across the top of the package. Fortunately, The Clone Wars animated series is definitely not Bantha Poodoo. With consistently high quality animation and writing, these stories allowed me to spend some quality "Star Wars time" with my own children while being able to enjoy the show on my own at the same time. The Lost Missions provide the opportunity for fans to own the last episodes of this fantastically rendered series previously only available through Netflix, as the final season was lost to Cartoon Network during the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd. by the Disney megalopoly. These final pre-House of Mouse episodes offer a bit of closure to the fans of the show, as well as just some good ol' fashioned fun to the more casual viewer. An entertaining watch for anyone, and a must-have for die-hard fans.

When the prequels were released, I was disappointed like many, but especially because we didn't get to witness anything but the beginning and end of the Clone Wars. Then this show was announced. 5 seasons later, I was so disappointed when this show got canceled. While it has its warts here and there - pacing of the early seasons, questionable storylines, etc, it also has its shining moments and delves deeper into the Star Wars mythos. It gave me a weekly dose of my favorite galaxy far, far away, and focused on a plethora of characters, not just the same core characters that the films focused on. Fantastic storytelling, mind-blowing production quality, writing that puts some of the prequel writing to shame and a killer soundtrack by Kevin Kiner - this series should not be missed. In particular, there are some wonderful moments in this half-season (originally started as season 6, now dubbed "The Lost Missions"), it will not disappoint. The Order 66 and Yoda Arcs alone are worth the price of admission.

'Clone Wars' was a really great show that developed and matured greatly over the course of it's five aired seasons. It's a real shame the show was cancelled due to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. Many storylines and character were left in the wind as a result. These 'Lost Missions' episodes are a taste of what was still being worked on before the show was cancelled, and it's so disheartening because they were some of the best episodes in the whole series. Highly recommend checking out the last four episodes for anyone who isn't a fan of the "midichlorians" explanation of the Force from the prequel movies. It revisits the entire concept and steers it more in line with the original trilogy version of the Force and how it works. It was also a great Yoda story arc that really humanizes him (I know...) much more than the movies ever did.

These final 13 episodes of "The Clone Wars" are among the best, examining the nature of the Force, the ability of Clone Troopers to resist the programing of Order 66, and even making Jar-Jar likeable. The animation and worlds are simply gorgeous, befitting the infinite possibilities offered by the "Star Wars" Universe. The voice work continues to maintain the highest quality, with Mark Hamill making a guest appearance as the voice of Darth Bane. As much as I love Tim Curry, his voice work as Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious distracts from much of the story since it's so obviously his voice compared to Ian Abercrombie, who voiced the character in earlier seasons and did a better job imitating Ian McDiarmid's performance.

As a fan of the series i was sad to hear it would only run 5 seasons. Then came the news that there were 13 episodes that never aired on TV. These episodes were exclusive to Netflix subscribers and only for a limited time. I'm glad that Disney finally has made these available to the FANS of Star Wars. Disney being the parent company of Lucas Arts is was unknown if they would take the interest and release these after their acquisition of Lucas Arts from creator George Lucas. This is the unofficial 6th Season of Star Wars / Clone Wars, tentatively titled " The Lost Missions ". Your collection is not complete unless you own this set. Some of the best episodes of the entire series are here. Do yourself a favor and pick this up while you still can.

Every year of the Clone Wars series the animation took a major step forward and season 6, or The Lost Missions is no exception. The animation is near Pixar quality, which is impressive for something that was meant as a weekly tv series. The release also contains unfinished episodes since the show was canceled mid production by new Lucas Film owner Disney. The only thing that lets this release down is that the 5.1 audio is not in a lossless format.

Season Six of The Clone Wars is a great addendum to what was/is a fabulous television series! Katie Lucas makes her glorious return in the first arc, which I consider to be the best of the season. It's a very personal and exhilarating story about one of the characters without a set future (a common tension killer in show that serves as a prequel) which keeps the tension and the stakes high. The Clovis arc is a holdover from Season Five but fits just as well here. It's really fascinating to take a look at Anakin and Padme's relationship in a more intricate way than we've seen in the past.

The "Lost Missions" are the 13 completed episodes that would have been part of season 6 if the series had not been cancelled. It continues the quality animation and stories of the Clone Wars series. It doesn't exactly provide an explicit end to the series but that's understandable, given the sale of Star Wars to Disney that led to the end of the series. It does wrap up a few loose ends and set the stage for Revenge of the Sith. Overall, the Clone Wars storylines, including the Lost Missions, continue to be better than the prequels.
