    Synopsis

    Superhero Movie
After spoofing disaster films in Airplane!, police shows in The Naked Gun, and Hollywood horrors in Scary Movie 3 and 4, producer David Zucker sets his satirical sights on the superhero genre with this anarchic comedy lampooning everything from Spider-Man to X-Men and Superman Returns. Shortly after being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high-school outcast Rick Riker (Drake Bell) begins to experience a startling transformation. Now Rick's skin is as strong as steel, and he possesses the strength of ten men. Determined to use his newfound powers to fight crime, Rick creates a special costume and assumes the identity of The Dragonfly -- a fearless crime fighter dedicated to keeping the streets safe for law-abiding citizens. But every superhero needs a nemesis, and after Lou Landers (Christopher McDonald) is caught in the middle of an experiment gone horribly awry, he develops the power to leech the life force out of anyone he meets and becomes the villainous Hourglass. Intent on achieving immortality, the Hourglass attempts to gather as much life force as possible as the noble dragonfly sets out to take down his archenemy and realize his destiny as a true hero. Craig Mazin writes and directs this high-flying spoof featuring Tracy Morgan, Pamela Anderson, Leslie Nielsen, Marion Ross, Jeffrey Tambor, and Regina Hall. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Superhero Movie: Dragonfly man to the rescue

4 of 5 stars for the comedy parody Superhero Movie. I love a good parody movie! Any movie with Leslie Nielsen is one that I will enjoy! The main theme is a geeky highschool guy is bitten by a radioactive dragonfly and gains superhero powers. Sound like a famous comic book? Yep. We have the beautiful girlfriend and a bad guy. Lots of bad puns, silly jokes, sight gags and odd-ball humor. My one piece of advise is to carefully watch the background of each scene; often the funny stuff is shown behind the foreground action. Easy on the brain, funny and entertaining. Worth the watching.

      Terrible Movie

This is one of the worst movies I have ever had the bad luck to see. I thought that it would be appropriate for my 11 year old but we turned it off after 10 minutes. Terrible language, a lot of inappriate content, nothing funny at all. It was especially in very poor taste for Steven Hawkins (Physicist with ALS) to be in the movie and they have him "saying"(by computer voice) terrible things to a group of high school kids. It may have been made for 14 - 15 year olds but I seriously doubt that that age group would find anything funny about this movie. IT STINKS!!!

If you like sophomoric humor (I do), then this movie should be on your all time movie favorites list. Leslie Neilson is hilarious as the uncle of dragonfly man. The bad guy is very well played by the same actor who played the a$$whole in "Happy Gilmor": The scene resulting from our hero being doused with pheromones is stunning, and it will leave you saying WTF!

Superhero Movie is a very funny movie. Drake was funny on Drake and Josh and he is even funnier in this movie. The entire movie kept me in tears and it has to be the funniest movie to come out in a long time. This movie mostly spoofs Spiderman 1 and a few parts are similar to Batman Begins and Fantastic Four. This is one of the funniest movies of 2008. Hilarious!
