    Special Features

    • "I Will Not Bow" Music Video by Breaking Benjamin
    • Feature Audio Commentary by Director Jonathan Mostow

The filmmaking trio behind the hit sci-fi sequel Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines re-team to explore a future in which humans live in isolation while only communicating with their fellow man through robots that serve as social surrogates and are better-looking versions of their human counterparts. Bruce Willis stars as an FBI agent who enlists the aid of his own surrogate to investigate the murder of the genius college student who invented the surrogates. As the case grows more complicated, however, the withdrawn detective discovers that in order to actually catch the killer he will have to venture outside the safety of his own home for the first time in many years, and enlists the aid of another agent (Radha Mitchell) in tracking his target down. Jonathan Mostow directs co-screenwriters Michael Ferris and John Brancato's adaptation of the graphic novel by author Robert Venditti and illustrator Brett Weldele. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      Worth Missing

Surrogates fails from the very beginning of the film. Without spoiling the film for those who are Bruce WIllis fans, the film centers around the idea that we are all living our lives out through our own robotic counterparts called Surrogates. The robots are controlled by each human/user from a single location (home, office, the moon, ect.) while delivering a virtual experience making the robots experiences feel authentic from your chair at home. The movie/book confronts the moral issues of this type of lifestyle. What ramifications it would have on our race, society and relationships. I did not read the book, but as far as this movie goes, they failed in every way to get the viewer involved in the story, care about the characters or the politics surrounding the characters int he film. "i-Robot" is a much better option in this genre tackling these subjects in a far more entertaining and polished manner. The sound track was off, the editing was poor and the special effects far below what we are used to seeing with Bruce Willis as the headliner. If I were you I would wait for one of two things. Bestbuy to put this in the $5.00 bin or cable.

the premise of the movie was flawed from the begining. if people spend their waking hours controlling a robot then how can they even have the muscle strength to get up and walk around when theyre unplugged? and especially how can children of their society develop properly if they never get any real exercise? everyone in the future would be weak, atrophied little retards. i know im probably over-thinking the movie but i know im right and it totally ruined it for me.

Bruce Willis has hair in this movie. Bruce Willis pulls a Ghost in the Shell esque thriller vs robot avatars that everybody seems to have, which made them avoid social interaction through... social interaction. They still remember to bathe and feed, though it seems they accomplish every other task within their robotic avatars.

      Great thriller movie

I have always been a fan of Bruce Willis ever since he got into the big screen arena. The plot of this movie is fresh. There is just enough action scenes to get the blood flowing, but it is not what holds the movie together. The storyline is fasinating and a little heart-breaking; and where we are heading with our technology, we really are not that far off.

This movie is Awesome. Blu-Ray quality is high along with sound. Just like the Matrix, this is not possible today but will be real soon. If you agree with me and this movie be sure to order the Matrix and also Wall-E. Live Long And Prosper.

Not the best Bruce Willis movie

If your a fan of Bruce Willis like I am, be prepared for a let down. I love sci-fi but this goes far beyond what would be even remotely considered "cool". Bad plot, poor acting, and mediocre special effects kill this movie.

      Mediocre sci-fi action film

If you want to watch a mediocre scifi action film just once then this is the movie for you. The plot is a little predictable and somewhat reminiscent of the matrix. Recommend this for a rental.

I think this is a very entertaining movie. Just because there is plot holes doesn't mean it only deserves two stars! If that were true than most movies would get two stars!
