Awesome Movie!
A great movie to add to any unique movie collection. A Good film to enjoy anytime.
Jake Gyllenhall and Dennis Quaid play their father son relationship wonderfully in this very heartwarming and action packed story about what could happen if the Atlantic Decadal Oscillation current were to break down due to abrupt climate change. Some may knock this story but it has stood the test of time and is even used in some University level courses to highlight the downsides of burning too much fossil fuel. The story does justice to the science albeit in a very compressed way given the time allotted. I liked the depth of all the characters including the the few very brief segments by the actor playing the Vice President. Quaid for his part was the Intrepid Scientist and explorer who never wavers from his mission to rescue his precocious scientist in the making son Jake Gyllenhall. This movie has it all, heartfelt moments to action and snappy dialogue. Grab some popcorn and watch it over and over again during the next Polar Vortex!!!

Digital Copy
I couldn't pass up the deal, I mean it was $4.99 which is practically renting a movie. But most stores it's more and also online. But the digital copy alone is worth the buy to me. My girlfriend really wanted the movie, I was never super impressed by it, just a little too slow and cheesy for my taste, but did enjoy it a little more than I remember as a teen. Had a good picture, the sound was great at moments, booming, and then quiet whispers from actors. Just wasnt balanced out well.
