    Synopsis

    The End of the Tour
After the publication of his epic novel Infinite Jest in 1996, author David Foster Wallace agreed to be accompanied on his book tour by Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky in what would become an exhaustive five-day conversation between the men that would leave them both enriched and altered by the experience. Lipsky would go on to write about the interview in the critically acclaimed best-selling book Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself. Screenwriter Lipsky and director James Ponsoldt recreate for the big screen many of the events and actual taped conversations from that marathon interview in this compelling drama. ~ Erin Demers, Rovi

I knew of the author David Foster Wallace but, had not read any of his books. Curious about this movie, due to the fact that the reporters story was not printed at the time of creation. And the fact the author had committed suicide. Also that Jessie Eisenberg played the reporter. Based on the original reporter tape recordings of interviews with the author.

I had lots of hope for this movie after reading early reviews. Unfortunately I didn't particularly enjoy the movie and felt it dragged in places. It's well acted and somewhat interesting just not a great movie. Rating is for the movie not the Blu Ray itself. The actual Blu Ray itself is fine.

This film is slow and quiet, compared to most films nowadays, but is very powerful and memorable. Jason Segal is excellent as David Foster Wallace, and Jesse Eisenberg is a great intellectual foil. Look for Segal to get some awards attention later this year.

It probably wouldn't be for everyone. There's little actual plot -- it's basically an extended conversation/interview that takes place throughtout the length of the film -- but it's very well done. If you have any interest in the author it's a no-brainer.

This is a wonderfully acted movie. As someone who generally doesn't care for Jesse Eisenberg, and who questioned Jason Segel's dramatic chops, I was really blown away. There aren't many bonus features on the blu ray, but the commentary is pretty great.

It is easy to write off a film starring the guy from HIMYM as a stupid comedy, but this is not that at all. Segel puts on an Oscar worthy performance as Davod Foster Wallace

Very well acted movie that felt very real. May only be worth a rental however. I don't see myself revisiting it anytime soon.
