The Iron Giant: A hero to remember
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is one of my favorite childhood movies. The fact that’s in high quality, especially the colors, makes it even more great.

Disappointed on what I got
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The item came damaged. I can't believe bestbuy had the nerve to send something like this to a customer. The case is broken in different spots, you can hear the disc is lose and just moving around freely inside the case. I can't belive that best buy thinks it was ok to send out a damaged product like this. The package itself wasn't damaged at all so I know that it left the warehouse like this. And its probably gonna be a hassle to return it so I'm better off just keeping it. Very unhappy.

This should be marketed as a "Director's Cut".
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two items in the Blu-Ray that weren't in the original DVD. 1.) When the Giant's disconnected hand is watching TV, it's now watching the ad for Disney's Tomorrowland rather than Maypo commercial. 2.) The "Giant's Dream" sequence about his homeworld is now included as Brad Bird initially wanted. The only difference I could see between the BD and the DVD is in one of the early scenes when Hogarth is bicycling to his mom's diner. The colors are markedly darker than on the DVD, but that is a minor, minor quibble not worth subtracting even part of a star. It's still a shining example of old-style, traditional animation, and it should be part of everyone's video library.

The Perfect Edition For Pining Fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Iron Giant: Signature Edition (Ultimate Collector's Edition) At long last we have the the Iron Giant on Blu Ray: and it's safe to say, the long wait was undenaibly WORTH IT. As a collector of Limited Edition films and other movie purchases, this is a must have set. As a fan of Iron Giant and it being, in my eyes at least the Greatest and Criminally Underrated Film of All Time, this Gift Box Set... is ESSENTIAL TO HAVE. It's a Limited Edition of 15,000 in counting and comes with a variety of features to enjoy: -The Iron Giant Signature Edition available with 2 Discs (Blu Ray and DVD), as well as Digital Download which is BEAUTIFULLY Remastered and contains 2 additional scenes that were intended for the first cut of the film. -A Collector's Black Box with a Foil Cover -5 Posters on Card Print by artist MONDO -A 32 Page Book with ecstactic artwork and a summary of how the film was made. -A New Documentary "The Giant's Dream" and other Featurettes -And last, but not LEAST an minitature Iron Giant figure with a display platform: this object is special to me due that it's very reminiscent or pretty much THE EXACT SAME figure that came out with the film on VHS for it's first home release about 15-16 Years ago. This set is beautiful beyond compare. If you love this film as much as I do, this is collection is a MUST HAVE. It's the perfect set for long time fans of the film and even for viewers who haven't seen this film.

The most underrated animated film ever made.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why this film ended up being a box office disappointment mainly because I've watched this film countless times as a kid and so has most (if not, all) of my friends. But regardless, its honestly one of the best animated films ever made and Warner Bros should've had more confidence in the film from when it was initially released to its blu-ray release. And I don't why this was the case, but The Iron Giant wasn't available on blu-ray at 3 different Best Buy locations in my area (so I ordered my blu-ray online). I don't know if they're quietly putting this on shelves like what they did with the DVD. Heck, I wasn't even aware of the DVD/Digital release a few months ago. So when I found out about that, of course, I was confused as to why they released it on DVD and Digital but efforts couldn't have been made to release the blu-ray with the other two releases mentioned above. So when I got the blu-ray in the mail and I'm actually really disappointed that they gave a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital packaging for The Limited Edition but couldn't do this for the regular Blu-Ray edition given how that was released with JUST the blu-ray when it was obvious that they could've done more with it like make it a Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital combo (which is what they should've done). So even to this day, Warner Bros still doesn't have the confidence for this film like they should and its honestly quite sad. Oh well, at least the film was finally released on Blu-Ray after holding it off from the DVD/Digital releases for several months for no reason whatsoever.
