The Jesus Rolls continues the story of Jesus Quintana, one of many scene-stealing presences from The Big Lebowski. But Lebowski it isn't. While interesting, it wanders and wavers and never really finds a comfortable pace until the very end. Worth a watch, but probably not endless re-watching.

I wanted to like this movie. Jesus is an established character, and has a lot to potentially work with, but this film is just scattered. There is not an origin story, or a continuation of anything. It's just a patchwork story strung along with several big leaps in storyline, big enough that you just have to just not think and just accept that it happened and allow the movie to flow, which that is a bit slow, and at times repetitive. The humor is minimal, and story pretty shallow. 2 guys, one right out of prison going back to his old antisocial ways, and then trying not to get caught, with bad behavior leading to more poor choices and behavior, and if it's supposed to be funny shinanigans, it really is not, it just occurs. Even on second and third viewings (if I get bored enough) I don't think this will go above a 3 stars. This won't be a cult classic with quoteable quotes. Great cast though. Rent or get this on discount if you are compelled to see this.

I bought this on the laurels of The Big Lebowski. I’m not sure quite what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. I can’t quite say after one viewing if I thought it was good or bad, but it was fun, dumb, and oddly charming.
