After owing the DVD and holding off on upgrading, I decided it was finally time to upgrade after reading about the new 4K transfer. The Good The Bad and The Ugly so far is the only film in the trilogy to receive the new transfer. There has been a lot of reviews both good and bad in regards to the coloring and whether it was really the directors direction for the film to have a yellow tinge to it. On first viewing it was a bit distracting, especially if your used to seeing the film any other way. I'll reserve judgement till I watch it a few more times. Overall I recommend with reservations, if the coloring issue with the remaster doesn't bug you I say go for it, it's a solid release and belongs in any Western fan's collection.

Very few westerns have been buy-worthy on Blu-Ray for me. When this was offered for a great deal, I figured why not. I got this and Once Upon a Time in the West for under $20 brand new. This trilogy had good quality video/audio cleanup on For a Few Dollars More and A Fistful of Dollars. The real treat comes from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. It's been fixed in this release and looks so much better than the initial release. This set does embody as best a remastering as the Man With No Name Trilogy can get. On a different note, Once Upon a Time in the West got a great transfer too. The Sergio Leone westerns are cinematic masterpieces that should be watched and/or owned.

I have always enjoyed these films, but had not seen them in several years. I was looking forward to watching them for the plots and action, but surprised myself several times on commenting how clear and sharp 99% of the video was. The films have been well remastered and actually look better than they did when shown in theaters. The audio tracks have been remastered and improved to the point of being close to the sound of a modern release in my opinion. The first two movies do move along quite nicely. The third one is a little slow at points, but perhaps makes the ending that much better. A great buy!

The Dollars Trilogy has not received the love it needs on HD in the USA. While Fistful and Few Dollars More are rehashes of the initial HD releases, the new transfer of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly makes this set worth purchasing. Framing is better and more detail is evident thanks to the 2K scan. Coloring is different than what fans are familiar with. Still, I'd like to have the original US theatrical version without the dubbed scenes (only on VHS and DVD). I can see this set come out again with the ORIGINAL English mono tracks and fresh transfers. Still, I couldn't beat the low price tag on this.

Everyone talks about The Godfather & Star Wars as the greatest trilogies of all time, I agree, some even say The Lord of the Rings, I DON'T agree, but the one trilogy that most forget on their "all time lists" is the "Dollars Trilogy" Sergio Leone's classic reinventing of the American Western and the films that cemented Clint Eastwood as a legitimate movie star! All remastered and with great bonus material included! This is definitely in the conversation of All time greatest and should be a part of any movie aficionados collection!

This classic is the western that influenced just about all the rest. Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, and Lee Van Cleef play near perfect roles of a gun slinging trio that made this movie so classic. The hunt for treasure while dealing with a multitude of obstacles has also been one of my favorite movie themes. I also give credit to the music scores that are so recognizable for all westerns. And lastly the director Sergio Leone was able to make it all happen for a truly western epic.

Chances are if you've seen Clint Eastwood's westerns you're not reading this review because you don't need a review to know this is worth it. If you're interested in westerns, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are going to be the actors you should be searching for. Magnificent 7, Silverado, Tombstone and Young Guns are the only westerns without the two worth watching. Everything without them I listed isn't a classic though but they're good besides mag 7 which is awesome.

This is a great collection with three great movies. They are all remastered for blu-ray, but The Good The Bad and The Ugly is completely remastered with crystal clear picture and a new awesome audio mix. There are some special features on each disc that dives into some aspects of the process of making that film, and they are all very interesting. Overall a great buy that is definitely worth the 14.99 I spent.
