What if virtual reality wasn't just for fun, but was being used to imprison you? That's the dilemma that faces mild-mannered computer jockey Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix. It's the year 1999, and Anderson (hacker alias: Neo) works in a cubicle, manning a computer and doing a little hacking on the side. It's through this latter activity that Thomas makes the acquaintance of Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who has some interesting news for Mr. Anderson -- none of what's going on around him is real. The year is actually closer to 2199, and it seems Thomas, like most people, is a victim of The Matrix, a massive artificial intelligence system that has tapped into people's minds and created the illusion of a real world, while using their brains and bodies for energy, tossing them away like spent batteries when they're through. Morpheus, however, is convinced Neo is "The One" who can crack open The Matrix and bring his people to both physical and psychological freedom. The Matrix is the second feature film from the sibling writer/director team of Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski, who made an impressive debut with the stylish erotic crime thriller Bound.~Mark Deming

The Matrix is a great film but this release is perhaps it's best to date. 4k HDR beautiful transfer of the original film that has been color corrected to look how it did in the original theatrical release. Additionally the sound includes the latest formats so you really have the full theater experience in your home without any comprise. Nice set of special features as well. I personally don't care for the cover art, but that is a very minor gripe.
Best Buy sent me a different cover than the one I ordered. Normally this would bother me but in this case the generic one they were advertising I was apprehensive about anyway. They sent me a much more interesting version of the cover for the same price. I'm way happier! (see photo)
An awesome steelbook for dirt cheap. The artwork has been updated and is much cooler. It now features a synthetic human in its pod. A must-have for someone like me who loves to transfer their 4K discs to steelbooks!
Blu-Ray of the Matrix movie adds to the screen quality, the first of the Matrix Series. Cheering them all through the movie. Love the Effects, Story line, and Blu-Ray clarity. This one comes in a collectable Steel box case
A:AnswerI understand your confusion. Here is the trick. A different image (the stars of The Matrix) is on the cardboard slipcase ON THE OUTSIDE. The rabbit image is on the blu ray case cover within the slipcase. Hope that helps.
