Synopsis

The Protector
On the eve of presenting a pair of prized elephants to the King of Thailand, a young martial arts expert and his father are shocked to discover that the beloved creatures were stolen by an international mafia syndicate, and now the determined fighter must travel to Australia to get his animals back in this adventure from the team behind the international action hit Ong Bak. To Kham (Tony Jaa) and his father, the elephants that they were about to present to the King of Thailand were not simply pets, but members of the family as well. When Kham learns that the criminals who stole his elephants have taken them back to their home base in Australia, the fearsome fighter vows to brave the strange new land and bring his animals back safely no matter what the cost. Upon arriving in Australia, Kham enlists the aid of Thai Police Sergeant Mark (Petchthai Wongkamlao) and pretty slave Pla (Bongkuch Kongmaili) in taking on down notorious crime boss Madame Rose (Jing Xing) and locating the animals he loves before it's too late. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

But after seeing the publics' reactions, the Protecter manages to squeeze everything you liked about his debut film and expanded upon it. Giving you more on screen pain! Facing off with a wide array of opponents, from taekwando, to giant wrestlers, and most notably a capoera duel! One most proud filming moment of this flick is a 10 minute winding staircase unedited fight where the camera does not stop which means there is no messing up. Tony ups his game and his standard in such challenges. It delivers a relentless amount of brone cracking enjoyment in much of his own style still paying homage to the originals like bruce and Jackie.

    Awesome fight scenes

The main reason someone would watch this movie is for the fights and the action. Critics have given this movie low reviews because they claim there is no plot, but to be honest, its a kung fu action movie, so who really cares. You don't go see a thriller for the comedy, it just doesn't make sense. This movie is one of my favorites with Tony Jaa and you can clearly see his talents as a martial artist in this film. The fight scenes are simply outstanding and keeps you wanting more. So before you pass this movie on because of the critics giving it low reviews for no plot( which doesn't make any sense), give it a shot, this movie will certainly keep you entertained.

I love a great martial art flick, and this movie had great fight sceens in it. The storyline however was lacking. I have found myself skipping through parts of the movie just looking for the fights. The plot seemed a little forced, like how there had to be some evil person who had to take something from someone and how that someone had to get it back. But, if your looking for an overly simplistic story with high octane action, then you will enjoy this move.

Tony Jaa, wow! what can be said about this human highlight reel. he does stunts that i do not think it is humanly possible. one of the better martial arts films in recent years. If you love marital arts movies, you must own The protector, and also he does his stunts with no CGI or wires..

This is one of the worse movies I have ever watched. You keep watching because you just know something is going to happen, but it never does. Some of the fight sequences are okay, but the picture in general is terrible. Do not waste your money on this movie.

Great action/fight scenes. I still can't believe no wires were used in any scenes. My only complaint is that some of the scenes had a grainy look to it, but it quickly disappeared and became clear.

This guy can fly! Cool jumping double-knee flying kicks are so unique and really cool to watch! And now I know why he's in so many action movies! A must see!
