I love my Moto G phone. It was very easy to figure out, which is important to older people.

I got this phone strictly for my business, so basically just voice, text and email access are all that is required.
The fact that it's only 3G is not a big issue and is more than offset by the low price.
Battery life is phenomenal (easily 18-20 hours under what is 'normal' use for me).
Screen size isn't huge but is certainly adequate.
I do wish it was possible to add a SD card for additional storage but this is definitely not a show stopper (for me) since, as I mentioned, usage is pretty basic.
Overall build quality is excellent as are sound and screen quality. The 5MP rear-facing camera is quite pedestrian by more recent standards but is more than serviceable.

I remember hearing how awesome this phone was back in 2013, saying its the best prepaid phone for under $200 (For the GSM model with 16GB) and was watching and reading reviews, showing off the sleek design, real and front facing cameras, a nice quad-core processor, Gorilla Glass 3 screen, and a 720p display and with an upgrade to KitKat 4.4 right out of the box! So I gladly laid my money down, and bought this lovely phone, and haven't looked back. Sure, it isn't as good as a Galaxy S6 or HTC One, and it lacks a removable battery and a SD card slot (This is the 1st Gen model and only has 8GB) but nothing DropBox and a Micro USB flash drive can't fix! I recommend going to the 2015 model, but this will do in a pinch! The battery life alone is enough to grab the Moto G!! You won't be disappointed!!!

I have been buying expensive flagship phones so was very surprised this inexpensive Moto G prepaid phone competes very favorably with something like the iPhone 6 but for a tiny fraction of the price. The Moto G screen quality and size is virtually similar to iPhone 6 but I prefer the Moto G's smaller physical size for easier one handed use and the build quality with metal frame and ergonomically curved soft touch back feels better. Everything else such as camera, speaker, battery life, performance, details like metal buttons, etc. are top notch. It even includes a nice surprise with built-in radio tuner that I've yet to see on any other phone. This thing is an undiscovered secret gem.

I cannot say enough about how great this phone is, especially for its price. The size is perfect, the camera takes great pictures, and the battery life is good. I do wish it had 4G, but at this price, it is hard to complain. I have had cell phones from Samsung and LG, but this Motorola is my favorite by far, especially due to its great build quality.

Moto G is the best no-contract smartphone under $50, ever. I didn't expect much considering its price point. I was wrong. The screen is magnificent, beating Retina displays of last-generation iPhones. It's vivid, bright and crisp with more than enough pixel density to never see individual pixels. The launcher is light and fluid, and applications run without delay. Finally, it's nearly pure stock Android (with very few Motorola and Verizon-specific apps), which is great.
Now the negative side. Verizon didn't give Lollipop update to this phone (all other versions of Moto G received it a long time ago; Verizon stopped at Android 4.4.4). The bootloader is locked and is not unlockable, if you're into rooting and flashing ROMs. (Other versions of Moto G can be officially unlocked on Motorola Web site). Common to all Moto G's, this phone has 8 GB of storage without the possibility to expand with an SD card.
So... all things considered, this was a perfect device to give to my little daughter for casual gaming. This smartphone effectively replaces a dedicated handheld gaming console for very little money. And she can use it for calling and taking pictures, too!

This phone's screen is nice both in size and resolution. Battery life is fine, the phone can last a whole day with normal use. Camera is good only for bright day light, and 8GB memory is too small. It's nice for a light use entry level phone.
A:Yes, I bought one to test that and you can bypass the Verizon set up and go to directly set up the Android portion of it so it functions like a tablet on wifi. Works great for this but you have to remember to put in in Airplane mode or it will revert back to the Verizon set up screen every time it is rebooted.
