Love this mouse! Great for work or play.

I've been devoid of a good mouse for a little while now since my previous work horse bit the dust, and I've been getting by with my travel mouse for the last few months, which while it is great for when I'm short on space, it stinks for any serious amount of time spent playing or working. I was kind of surprised when I opened up the box to the Kone II Air. While the box is a decent size and should give anyone an indication of the mouse size, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a bit smaller than it actually is. It's actually one of the biggest mice I've had in years and I was a bit worried at first because I have just normal hands and I was afraid that this was going to make it a slog to use. I was wrong. The Kone II Air feels great in my hand, and all the buttons are within easy reach. I also was a bit concerned over the 'Air' moniker. I got a mouse last year to switch things up and it was an 'air' type mouse and it felt so weird that I gave it to my friends' kid. To me though, the Kone II Air is just about perfect. It's not a brick but it does have some heft to it when slinging it around on my desk. I LIKE that. I feel like it gives more feedback to me other than just watching the screen. It lets me do more stuff from 'muscle memory'. Another thing I'm really enjoying about the Kone II Air is the clickyness of the buttons. All the buttons actuate really nicely but they also give a satisfying click. Supposedly these switches are rated for hundreds of millions of clicks, so I should be good for a week or two! The Turtle Beach Swarm II software is really good too, though it is only for Windows computers at this time. It installed quickly and easily and gives you all the needed setting on one scrollable page. Within a couple of minutes, I had my DPI markers set, new firmware downloaded, and my LED preferences locked in (which is OFF, for me - though I did keep the occasional light that shows battery level). There is only really one thing about the Turtle Beach Kone II Air that I'm NOT thrilled about, but it is in no way a deal breaker, the mouse wheel. While I dig that I can switch back and forth between steps and an infinite fast scroll, here the clickyness of the wheel is a bit of a turn off. It has such hard stops that it feels a bit jarring. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but since that is the mode I most often use, it has just been sticking out to me a bit more. Oh, and one more thing I like, the dual wireless connection protocols. Bluetooth is great for day-to-day work, and it gives the Kone II Air a great battery life of 350 hours (which BTW, I'm nowhere near hitting yet), but when clicks REALLY matter the USB dongle and the 2.4 GHz channel are the way to go. Absolutely ZERO lag. While it cuts into battery time, for me it is worth it since I have just about had it with flaky BT connected mice. All-in-all I'm super happy with the Turtle Beach Kone II Air. It's got a great feel in the hand despite being bigger than many mice, and it is super responsive. It may not be the cheapest mouse out there, but you get what you pay for with the Kone II Air.

Kone II Air: This Gamer Means Business

After spending a considerable amount of time using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air, It surprised me in more ways than one. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this mouse, having never used a Turtle Beach mouse. After using it daily for both gaming and productivity, I can safely say this is one of the most versatile and thoughtfully designed mice I’ve tested in a while. It’s not without its quirks, but for anyone who wants a wireless gaming mouse that gives you comfort, customization, and battery life, the Kone II Air really delivers. Whether I was diving into fast-paced FPS matches, navigating spreadsheets for my data work, or just scrolling a web page, this mouse performs beautifully. *Design & Build Quality* First thing you notice when you take the Kone II Air out of the box is its size and feel. This mouse is not small. If you’ve got medium to large hands, it’s going to feel great. I typically use a claw grip, and it fit perfectly. It feels like it's a little wider at the top than typical gaming mice. The back of the mouse has a comfortable shape that really supports your hand over long sessions. It’s got a matte finish that looks clean but does pick up a few fingerprints. That doesn’t bother me much, but worth noting if the prints aggravate you. The sides are slightly textured, and Turtle Beach even includes 2 grip tapes that you can stick on. I used both, and they do a great job of keeping the mouse from slipping during intense gameplay. Build quality overall is solid. Nothing feels cheap or loose. The scroll wheel is smooth and the buttons have a really satisfying click. The RGB is there but it's not overwhelming. It's mostly on the scroll wheel and two LED strips across the top. The mouse weighs a little more than your typical mouse, over 100 grams, which is definitely heavier than ultra-light mice. It’s not ideal for fast twitch shooters if you're into flicks and speed, but it’s actually really well-balanced. Once I got used to the weight, it didn’t slow me down at all especially with how well it glides. *Setup* Setup is simple. You have three ways to connect: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless (USB dongle), or wired with the USB-C cable. I went straight to the 2.4GHz mode for gaming, and it paired instantly. No drivers needed just to get started, but you’ll want the software to unlock all the customizations. Charging is done through USB-C, and the included cable is flexible and high quality. It’s also long enough that you can keep playing while charging without it feeling clunky. The dongle can be stored inside the mouse itself, right near the battery. That’s a little detail, but really helpful if you ever travel with it. *Performance* This is where the Kone II Air really surprised me. Performance-wise, it's great for a variety of gaming styles, but it can also get you through productivity or schoolwork. The sensor uses Turtle Beach’s Owl-Eye 26K DPI optical sensor, and it feels accurate. I set up multiple DPI levels (I usually toggle between 800, 1200, and 1600 depending on the game), and every movement felt smooth and clean. It will even help choose your ideal DPI level. There wasn't any rapid acceleration or odd tracking. It dealt with turns and rushes on my fps games well. The polling rate is 1000Hz, which is standard for high-end mice, and I never noticed any lag or weird delay, even in frantic gaming situations.. The mouse also supports NVIDIA Reflex, which helps reduce input latency even more. When I clicked, it felt like I was getting an instant response. The TITAN Optical switches also deliver. These aren’t your average mouse switches, they’re optical, so they respond faster and last longer than most. I found the left and right buttons super responsive without feeling too sensitive. And they’ve got a nice, solid click. The 4D scroll wheel is clickable in four directions up, down, left, and right and you can remap all of that. It's super handy for switching weapons, using macros, or even scrolling horizontally any kind of software. It also has a free-spin mode for when you need to move through a long document or scroll quickly to the bottom of a web page. Battery life is top tier. On Bluetooth, Turtle Beach says it’ll last up to 350 hours and I believe it. I used it for a full week on wireless 2.4GHz, and I still had over 70% left. On 2.4GHz, it’s rated for 130 hours, which is more than enough for most people. You’ve got 11 programmable buttons, and if you use the Easy Shift function, you can get up to 21 functions mapped to one mouse. That will work well for MMOs, strategy games, or FPS games. You might also find uses in daily productivity work for Copy/Paste/Etc...If you’re used to ultra-light mice, this one does take some adjusting. I would say it's better for precise, methodical movements rather than quick ones. Turtle Beach Swarm 2 Software The Swarm 2 software offers a ton of customization options. It’s clean, pretty easy to use, and really powerful. You can adjust just about everything: DPI levels, polling rate, lift-off distance, debounce time, RGB effects, angle snapping, and even surface calibration. The Easy-Shift[+] is one of my favorite features. You assign a “shift” button (I picked the side thumb button), and then every other button gets a secondary function. Swarm 2 also lets you sync lighting between other Turtle Beach devices if you’re into that. And once you dial in your settings, you can save them to profiles that load automatically based on the game or app. I didn't experience any bugs or crashes with the software. Pros & Cons *Pros* Good shape for palm and claw grips Battery Life is great as expected (130h wireless / 350h Bluetooth) 26K DPI sensor Titan optical switches feel snappy and durable 4D scroll wheel with Mappable inputs Good wireless performance and NVIDIA Reflex support Software loaded with customization options Grip tape included *Cons* Heavier than ultra-light mice (not ideal for competitive FPS) No small hands Fingerprints will add up Amount of customization is overwhelming but it's good for those who want comprehensive customization features Conclusion After using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air every day for both work and play, I can confidently say this is one of the best wireless gaming mice out there. It does well in almost every area. The ergonomics are top-tier, the performance is consistent, and the software gives you room to fine-tune everything exactly how you like it. I’d recommend this mouse to almost anyone unless you’re a hardcore FPS-only player who needs something lighter or you have small hands. For me? It’s become my daily driver.

Fast, comfortable and easy to use!

Really well done gaming mouse. I was a bit apprehensive at first seen a Turtle beach mouse (I've know them more for their gaming headphones and game pads) but I was put at ease right away when I started using this mouse. They include all you need in the box. A 2.4Ghz wireless dongle (USB type A), a dongle adapter (Type A to type C) so you can use the included cable to extend the reach of the wireless signal (I did not, it was plenty strong when I plugged the dongle directly to one of my PC USB ports on the back), a nice and long braided Type A to C USB charging cable, some stickers with a nice grip texture (in case you feel the mouse plastic is to slippery; which I thought I would need since I have dry skin and thought I would not have a good grip, but I have not needed to use those at all) and a quick start manual guide. Setting it up was super easy, all I had to do is plug in the wireless dongle and turn on the mouse (I had some charge already) and it was working right away. The manual gives you instructions if you want to operate and configure the mouse without using their software (they call it driverless setup), which you can do. However I did download and install their "swarm 2" software to fully configure its features via it. Upon launching the software it detected an update for it and also a firmware update for both the mouse and the dongle, I let them go through. After that I was on to the races to configure it. There is lots of settings (and they are very well layered and each one has a small "?" to tell you what they are for). With it it was easy to configure the RGB lighting, DPI settings, polling settings, battery saving settings, calibrations (for your mouse mat) etc. They also support configuring each button and the very important easy shift button. With it you can enable a second layer of functions for each button (and even predefined macros, which very nicely they have a list of the most popular games out there to quickly configure). The software is very well done and does not take any resources or is bloated at all like other ones I have tried. The only con I feel is they have so many separated apps for each things (I have one apart for my turtle beach game pad controller, now another one for the mouse, I just wish the would consolidate their software in just one for all their products). Ergonomically, the mouse feels great. I was a bit apprehensive since it looked chunky compared to other mouses and I have small hands, however I was able to have a great grip on it. Its designed to accommodate several types of grips (like claw, full hand on top etc.). All the buttons feel great when clicked and not wobbly at all. The mouse glides gracefully on my mouse mat (did do a calibration). The RGB lighting is great and you can configure it too, I have it set up so it tells me the battery levels. Battery life has been great and I just plug it in at night and unplug it during the day and has worked great. Really positively surprised by the quality and features, never thought Turtle beach would make great mouses!
