      Subwoofer pairing problems

      @Vizio support, Bought Vizio SB 4551 5.1 home theater a month back. Was extremely happy with the quality of the sound and subwoofer performance and then one fine day I noticed that subwoofer stopped playing. ....thought that it should be a pairing problem and tried resetting it on my own following user guide but didn't worked. Called customer care and though associate was very nice and tried to help but he couldn't figure out what's happening and couldn't make it work after 1hr of long call. However I kept trying and then finally it started working after 2hrs of hit and trial . I thought am back to my happy music life. ....and then very next day same problem again. Again called customer care. ..they were again nice and spent another hour to get this work. I thought now all is well. ...third day in row same problem again. Finally I thought this is a defective piece and got it changed with the new one. I just loved it so much that bought the same model again. Here it is now, today is third day and same problem started again long calls with customer care started.....I see now that the software of this system definitely has a problem because this is 2nd system new again and still giving same problem. Vizio customer care are clueless about this problem and it's permanent solution. Hope someone can help me after reading this review. Thinking to have this changed again. ...with this same model? Not sure what if that again has same problem. Would have loved if it continued to work flawlessly which isn't the case

      Amazing soundbar system and love the design of the subwoofer (hiding under the sofa - simply genius). Definitely the loudest soundbar system I've ever owned. But, as a couple folks reported on other sites, sound does drop out briefly ever now and again - I contribute this to streaming shows/movies, as sound is perfectly fine when watching via my cable box/DVR. Unfortunately, after only one month the soundbar is unable to pair with any remote via Bluetooth and I'm no longer able to get sound, regardless of input. After a little research, I discovered that someone else has run into this problem (you can see his review and recommendations over at another online retailer), so maybe this is a software glitch...? Vizio support has been friendly enough, but I'm overall disappointed as this is the second Vizio product to fail on me shortly after purchase (I recently reviewed a P-Series monitor/TV here on Best Buy). Silver lining is that I qualified for an Advanced Replacement - meaning Vizio ships out a new unit before I had to return anything on my end, which saves me from hunting down a box big enough to ship this back in. I'd love to give this four stars, but because this is my second Vizio issue in about two weeks (albeit on two different items), I'm struggling with overall quality. Hopefully no one else runs into the same problems!

      Solid Soundbar System

      Out of the box, this system sounded amazing. Took me maybe 5 minutes to set up, with half of that installing the app on my phone and pairing the Bluetooth. Sound quality was deep and rich, and incredibly loud. We put this in our home theater, which is in the back of a 3.8k sq ft house. My wife, who was outside the front of the house, thought it was thundering outside when I tested the sub. Thankfully all of the other speakers chime off their respective locations when tested, and she knew then to just tell me to turn it down. The included cables are a nice touch, giving you literally everything you need to get a standard TV/console/sound system hooked up. Pretty much every cable hook up you can think of was in there. Unfortunately, most of the cables are too short for a home theater setup. I think most were in the 3' range. Again, think entertainment center, and you'd be fine. Besides that, only two minor complaints: First, it does not work well with Atlantic Satellite 77305018 speaker stands, even though they are recommended by Amazon and "frequently bought with". The attachment mechanism doest not work well with the cords and I ended up having to get far more creative than I would have liked to get them securely attached. If possible, skip the stands, because the wall mounts are pretty solid. I may yet abandon the stands for the wall mounts, if I can find a way to hide the cords. Second, no 4k pass through means I'm using optical instead of HDMI arc, which my Xbox isnt the biggest fan of. It still works just fine, but it could be better. Tl;dr for $400, this system is a great buy. Slim sub is awesome, will annoy neighbors with your kickin new beats

      I’ve had this product for about a week and thus far have made 5 calls to VIZIO’s Tech Support amounting to about 2-1/2-3 hours on the phone with them. I read plenty of reviews before making my purchase, mostly good and the bad ones we relating to some users having connectivity issues between the sound bar and the subwoofer. I initially had trouble paring the sound bar to my phone, pairing the soundbar to Wi-Fi and pairing the soundbar to the subwoofer. I called VIZIO’s tech support and they were very helpful walking me through the process, after about an hour on the phone and performing a master reset on the unit everything worked. The sound of the SB4051-D5 was outstanding, I was very pleased. BUT WAIT…..After the 1st use I noticed that the subwoofer was not staying paired with the sound bar, and I had to connect it manually. This is an ongoing issue and the most frustrating part about the process, the subwoofer does not stay paired. After a few more calls with VIZIO and a few more master resets, VIZIO determined I have a faulty unit and decided to exchange the unit for another. I have had a very pleasant experience with their customer service team so kudos for that VIZIO. Everyone deserves a second chance right…so I’m giving one to VIZIO. Maybe this replacement will work flawlessly….but maybe not, we shall see.

      Great for the price

      Picked this up to downsize a larger 5.1 setup. While the soundbar can’t compare with separating the left and right channels like my floor speakers could, I love how loud it gets for such a compact footprint. It definitely shines for tv/movies more so than music. When it comes to the music, it’s fine most of the time but when songs have a lot of reverb there’s almost a delayed echo that comes from the rear speakers. My guess is it is trying to simulate surround sound from a 2 channel source but it is definitely distracting. The SmartCast app allows for switching the audio setting but if “surround” is turned off the back speakers don’t put out sound. I haven’t experienced any of the issues others have with the sub needing to be re-paired with the main unit but I have had a few instances where streaming from a phone would be choppy, cutting in and out randomly. Once, my phone lost the connection while in between songs and then was not able to find it until I set up the speaker from scratch. These occurrences have been infrequent so I won’t knock the system too much. Technology does just glitch sometimes. Overall I’m pleased with my purchase and would consider buying again if my unit was lost or destroyed.

      Sounds Great, Sucks as BT Speaker

      This item is great for half of what I had hoped it would supply. I had just gotten a couple of Echo Dots, and I wanted a nice blue-tooth speaker to use with the Dot when playing music. I also liked the idea of a wireless soundbar for my TV. I thought this unit would kill both my birds. As a soundbar, it is exactly what I wanted. Simple setup (although I was missing one cable), and great sound. But, it sucks as a blue-tooth speaker. It is hard to recognize by Alexa (the Echo Dot). When it is, and I am able to connect to it, it drops when the soundbar shuts down for no activity, even though I have turned off the Eco mode so that it's not supposed to. So if I go through all the trouble to reconnect each time, it still only stays connected for maybe 15 minutes. I fought it for about a week, and then went back to using a $20 blue-tooth speaker I purchased for my iPhone. The Echo Dot loves that cheap little speaker and never has trouble staying connected (or reconnecting should I lose connection-rarely). So, if you are looking for a great soundbar, this is your unit. If, like me, you want a soundbar and a blue-tooth speaker - this may not be for you.

      Subwoofer won't pair properly

      Like quite a few others on here, I have had issues with the subwoofer pairing consistently. I'm currently on my second unit, and it will have to be replaced/returned. When the system works; it sounds great - but that's ONLY when it works! First unit worked fine for about 1 and a half weeks, then started having pairing issues. Tried everything as suggested in the manual to no avail. After several phone calls to Visio, I was told that there was a problem with a certain batch of these units. So, I had to box mine up and send it back to them (before they would send my new unit) - so I was without a sound bar for 2 weeks - all the while my warranty was still running from the original purchase date according to Visio. Now that my second unit has been installed for a week and a half - it's doing the exact same thing. I'm willing to give Visio one more chance - but only because I'm beyond my date to return this unit to Best Buy. I guess the one silver lining in this whole fiasco is that I can keep returning the unit and SURELY I'll eventually get a good one!!

      I bought this as a Christmas gift that my husband decided to open early.. to be honest, the set up process was a bit confusing at first but once I found the YouTube how to for it the instructions made a lot more sense (definitely operator error).. so basically it comes with different types of cables for different ways to hookup the speakers to fit your tv/gaming needs... once we got everything hooked up, the sound was SO LOUD and so crisp.. we barely turned the volume on and the sound filled up the entire apartment.. but that’s not the best part.. the subwoofer has soo much base to the point we had a noise complaint and can not use it until the lease is up.. like when we laid it under the couch with a towel underneath it the entire floor was still trimbling.. we are so excited to move into our new house and see what this system is really made of.. (ps. We will be buying more because if you didn’t know you can sync multiple sets together and stream the sound through out the house..)
