Sweet Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got one at my local Best Buy. Set up was real easy. Locks into my yahoo account and let's me do IM. The weather is a nice feature. Great voice quality and good range around my Texas size house. Would like to see local traffic reports but maybe that's an upgrade for later. The manual expects you to know home networking.

Cons/Remarks: Why would some spent nearly hundred dollars or more for a just fully functional colored cordless phone? I am pretty sure that people would buy this phone to use with yahoo messenger. This phone does not support yahoo voice calls. A phone to browse yahoo services and text chat with friends? Why cant someone use their existing cell phone for that purpose? In my case, none of my friends could see me online. I got a messgae "no buddies online" uh? Well the reason for that is this phone does not connect to yahoo network directly... it uses vtech's proxy services and if the proxy network fails for any reason you have no yahoo messenger functions! Poor tech support from vtech. After holding the line nearly an hour the representative informed me that someone would call me back. What??? I would never recommend this phone to anybody. It is sad that I was very much excited to get this phone after waiting for more than a year... but totally dissappointed :(
