A: So far that has not been the case for me. I've used devices that had this issue, but the Wacom Pro has no issues with it. The pen takes full priority when it's anywhere near the tablet, so your hand can't actually do anything (including the touch controls) until you bring the pen far enough away.
A: You can load the drivers and such from the CD but it is always recommended to download the latest of everything from Wacom's web site. If a download is not an option then you definitely need a CD reader. Loading the required software doesn't take long and is pretty straight forward. Once loaded you don't need the drive to operate the tablet. Good luck
