great film idea and story
wow as a conceptual film the west world sage was a good film idea what we see is a area being viewed and calculated by yet another group of stand by controller type people something im not sure has be used as a plot im sure the series was highly acclaimed for this reason alone and much more a good and entertaining visual experience
This series is a brand new take on a classic movie adapted from yet another page turner from Michael Crichton.
But this is not your parents Westworld. This dystopian future tale has been expanded and explores a deeper mystery as only HBO can do.
Warning: this is a very graphic series. Violence, gore, nudity, sex, and adult language are prevalent throughout.
I recommend this if you enjoy Sci-Fi, The works of Crichton, and want to explore more in the world of WESTWORLD!
As for Best Buy, I ordered this online and was very pleased with the complete service they provided. I will utilize the online option again as the need arises.
My fiancé and I recently upgraded our home entertainment set up, and when purchasing our new Samsung HDR 4K tv, LG 4K Bluray Player, and LG 2.1 Sound Bar, we decided we wanted to pick up our first 4K Blu-ray in order to get the full experience of our new home theater.
I had watched the first season of Westworld on HBO Now, but had been wanting to rewatch it with my fiancé so she could get caught up for the 2nd season, so we decided it would be a great test of our new 4K picture.
To say it exceeded our expectations is an understatement. I had watched the show on our old setup and it looked good, the series is just shot beautifully regardless, but seeing it in full 4K HDR quality was unreal. Combined with our sound bar, it was just an experience unlike any other I've ever had watching a show.
Additionally, speaking as a physical media collector this was my first 4K br purchase, which I have been looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. Since it came out, I had always found the packaging for the 4K to be much more interesting than the standard Blu-ray/DVD. The sleek red steelbook case definitely stands out on the shelf in the best possible way, and while the actual disc case inside is only a standard case, it's still full of other cool things (I always appreciate little things like the fake Westworld guide book and even the most simple of episode lists/descriptions is always appreciated).
If you have a 4K setup at home, whether you've seen the show or not, this is a box set that MUST be in your UHD collection.
I would recommend this to a friend

Westworld the TV Series
The first season of Westworld, a made for TV 10 episode series that aired on HBO in 2016. It begins the franchise by building on the characters in this dark future AI Wild West amusement park world where there are no consequences for criminal actions for those who are willing to pay to play out their fantasies, since the victims are all robots. But what if these lifelike androids don't want to be the victims anymore? That is the premise of the ongoing plot, which is what made the 1973 movie and its sequel (1976) popular. This First season was highly acclaimed by both the critics and the fans, which produced another season to be aired in 2018. A must for sci-fi western fans.
I have been waiting for this to come back out in 4k for quite a while, unfortunately I didn't get it on a sale price...Great show though Sound and picture is superb. Highly recommend to those who are looking for a good sci-fi series!
I enjoyed this season. An interesting mix of futuristic technology intertwined with wild west vibes. The development of the characters and layering of the story added depth to the overall theme of season 1. Intrigued to see how the story continues in season 2.
Cool methods of acting from some of the cast that lend to the immersiveness of the west world environment. If you like futuristic shows and AI you will likely enjoy this. A different means of defining life in this one than from other similar movies/shows.
