Bad gaskets

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up, took it home and plugged it in only to find that the doors gaskets had gaps in the door and freezer hinge side. After letting the unit cool down for a day, the freezer had developed ice and condensation on the outside where the gaskets did not seal. Called Whirlpool and they cannot send a technician for 1 month. WOW! Now we have no refigerator.

Avoid at all costs. Terrible product and service.

Less than 12 months old and noticed all my meat and dairy going rotten over night. Of course the fridge has no temperature readout so you can tell how cold it is so you have to guess. Called Whirlpool who apologized for the one week wait to have it repaired but assured me it would be taken care of. 1 week later "repair" guy comes out with no parts to repair it. Says he's only there to diagnose. Opens the door agrees that its not cold enough and then says he has no idea when parts will be in stock. Could be 2 weeks...could be more. Nobody knows. I call Whirlpool as I'm annoyed that the call sat for 1 week with no parts ordered. A "manager" doesn't seem interested and said I should buy a big cooler and put ice in it every day and use that as a fridge until whenever parts come in. Insanity. If this is the level of customer service Whirlpool offers I have no idea how they're not out of business by now.

Broken

I can absolutely say I will never buy an appliance from Best Buy. No one in GeekSquad or Whirlpool seems to want to replace said item. It took two weeks for a technician to come to inspect said appliance only for them to tell me it was unrepairable. On the phone for three hours just for multiple representatives to tell me they can’t do anything. I am literally going broke from eating out for a MONTH! And no one cares. To have this issue during this time has been heartbreaking because I don’t think I’ll be able to make rent this month.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My refrigerator was purchased in June of 2020 according to the owners manual says there’s suppose to be five different temperatures but I can’t get my frig to get any cooler than 34° nothing stays cold , liquids in my refrigerator when taking out are room temperature ! owners manual said not to block the vent in the back of the fridge to allow proper circulation , and I always make sure that that’s clear at all times my temperature is not staying at 34° it also says that there is a cooler temperature but I can’t get it to go any lower than 34° Payed way to much money to have these problems

- A:Answer Please read my review of this fridge. It should be a "no frost" fridge, but in my case, and I suspect in others, based on my reading of the many reviews, there is a fatal flaw in this unit. The auto defrost is performed by a heating loop that sits on top of the coil. Because Whirlpool built this fridge incorrectly, this heating loop melted into the plastic of the roof of my freezer, burning its way all the way to the floor of the fridge above. The loop shorted out, thus losing the auto-defrost feature. Bottom line: DON'T buy this fridge. I see you posted 11 months ago. Hopefully, you purchased something else. Read about my saga with Whirlpool customer service. They were friendly, but ultimately, it was a ruse to do NOTHING to address the issues with their product that were clearly their fault. Avoid this company at all costs.

It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only your refrigerator be provided. Use an outlet that cannot be turned off by a switch. Do not use an extension cord. You can find the full set of requirements for this unit in the Owner's Manual, starting on page 3.
