Q: We purchased this oven approximately two years ago. The cook top still works fine. However, the touch pad does not light up at all. Our local service technician said that it could be up to $500 in parts to get it fixed. Should we start over with a new 1?

A: Instead of spending that much to repair, I would get a new one. Even if repaired, it may never be the same. A word of advice: do not use the self-clean function. The intense heat can ruin electronics! Seems crazy, since the manufacturer has that function on the oven, but can be true. A serviceman explained that to my friend who ended up having to replace an expensive double wall oven for that reason. He told her he saw it happen to many makes/models. Easy-Off is messy and stinks, but it’s the way to go.

Q: How do you use the cleaning mechanism

A: Hey Maverick, please visit https://bit.ly/35DDgw0 and refer to page 15 for more information on the AquaLift® Steam Clean cycle for this Whirlpool® Range.
