Why Didn't I Just Return It!?
Posted .Should've returned it… Deadbolt mechanism was immediately catching on black plastic piece it should slide over so it would leave about 1/4" of the deadbolt exposed. Yale's customer service is horrendous (read: Comcast). Must be a known issue because they didn't try to troubleshoot, just sent a replacement (1 month). After installation, realized there was no z-wave button and they sent the wrong model. Yale was non-responsive for weeks (except to send me demands to send back the defective lock or I would be charged). Finally got them to send the correct model… three months and three installations later, I have a working deadbolt (for now - haven't tested z-wave functionality). When inquiring about what Yale could offer to compensate me for my time, 'management' offered to let me keep the wrong model they sent for $105, a whopping $4 off current retail. SMH. Should’ve returned it!

Nice lock easy to work with
||Posted .I like the lock but... 1. The instructions were incorrect. In configuring the master code hit the gear, type the code you want and then the gear again. No need to hit the 1. 2. To do a factory reset, hold the reset button, remove one battery for 5 seconds, continue to hold the reset button, place the battery back in while holding the reset button for an additional 10 seconds. 3. While the lock is supported by smart things that support does not extend to The Google Home. It will require you to do some additional work with either switch emulation or IFTTT before you can control it with your voice. I believe that this limitation is intentional. There is always the chance someone could walk up to an open window and yell "HEY GOOGLE OPEN THE FRONT DOOR." So if you do one of these work arounds do so at your own risk.,

Very solid lock for the price
||Posted .I've been using my Yale Touchscreen deadbolt with Z-wave for almost 2 months now and I've been extremely pleased with it. I replaced a standard deadbolt and installation was a breeze. One thing to watch for is if your current deadbolt sticks then you might have problems with the powered lock being able to close all the way. I had to grind out the faceplate on the doorframe for a smooth action on the bolt. Programming is simple and I have integrated it with a Samsung Smarthings hub. It all works seamlessly. My only disappointment with the lock is that you can't control the codes remotely and you can't customize the auto-lock time interval. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Difficult to set up
||Posted .As many reviews point out the instructions for the set up are not complete. The most important thing they don't tell you is the first thing you need to know, how to "wake up" the touch screen. One finger won't do it like other locks. You have to use the back of your fingers on the whole pad. If you figure this out you can go ahead and set up. The unit I purchased would not connect to Smartthings hub so it had to be replaced. The second one hooked up fine.

Great Keyless Entry Smart Lock!
||Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.I would give 5 stars except it mounts slightly off center. I've tried mounting twice except something about the shaft (it has 2 settings) while level in the mounting hole makes the housing slightly tilted. I like that the keypad is dark until you cover it fully; which brings it awake. I consider it a security feature since most people will not know how activate it. I like the Z-Wave and it works well with my Samsung Hub. Battery life has been about 4 months, but we use it a lot as we're in a multi-tenant unit and lock each time we leave.

No More Keys!
||Posted .I have enjoyed this product tremendously. Being able to leave the house without needing a key to get back in, that's perfect. Being able to connect to my BLINK Hub and verify the door is locked when I left in a hurry, peace of mind. Being able to remotely unlock the door when a friend needs to stop by and borrow a cup of sugar, well now I'm just showing off.

nice lock with a few flaws
||Posted .Installation couldn't be easier. If you have a old lock, it's as simple as remove and replace. The instructions that came in the box were off? so i ended up searching the internet for programming but now we are good. The one main thing I would change is adding the key to it. While it has the option of plugging in a 9V battery if the batteries inside die, I rather have a key hole. I have a Z-wave hub (Smartthings) and it's great being able to open the lock before you arrive or opening it remotely from miles away.

Does the Job and Looks Great
||Posted .I have a Z-Wave security system and needed a smart lock that fit into the system. This Yale lock works really well and integrated easily into my security system. The lock is quite a beauty. Nice and sleek and works well. A few things I'd change are the manual lock feels kind of cheap and I wish there was a backup lock just in case. The price is also a bit high when compared to the competition but we've had no problems so far. Recommended.
