    Synopsis

    Zookeeper
Beloved zookeeper Griffin Keyes (Kevin James) decides to quit his job to dive into the dating pool, and finds that his animal friends have been harboring an incredible secret in this comedy from director Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer, Click). Griffin is a single guy who loves his job at the Franklin Park Zoo. He has a special bond with the animals, yet he can't help but feel lonely each night when he returns to an empty house. Eventually deciding that a more prestigious job may be the key to finding a new girlfriend, Griffin prepares to turn in his walking papers and reinvent himself. But when word gets out to the animals that Griffin will soon be leaving, they realize the only way to keep him around is to reveal they have the gift of the gab. Perhaps with a little dating advice from his friends in the animal kingdom, this lonely zookeeper will manage to meet the girl of his dreams without losing the job he loves. Rosario Dawson co-stars in a comedy featuring the voices of Sylvester Stallone, Adam Sandler, Cher, and Nick Nolte. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The film opens in a realm and/or planet far removed from Earth and human existence. We’re given a brief overview of the major events in its history and then we’re introduced to its royal family battlefield conqueror, Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth). After disobeying his father, Odin (played by Anthony Hopkins) he is banished to Earth and stripped of his godlike abilities. Enter Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). While studying anomalous events in the atmosphere under the guidance of her mentor Erik Selwig (Stellan Skarsgard) and with the not-so-able assistance of Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), she bears witness to Thor’s banishment or rather the tornado-like occurrence that made it possible. This intrigues Foster and after a brief period of reticence she hopes to offer help to Thor and, at the same time, elicit any information he might have that could help her in her work. All the while, turmoil in Thor’s realm could potentially destroy both it and Earth. I’d not seen Hemsworth before and while the part requires very little beyond physicality, he is adequate at least. The “earthlings”, are good enough as are those from Thor’s home planet and the story is about what I expect. It’s not amazing, it’s not awful. Basically, it’s just a good time at the movies.

i would say you are gonna get what you expect from a kevin james movie ... you have talking zoo animals that try to help him get the girl ... its basically mall cop but in a zoo ... its still a funny movie and a fun movie to watch ... more for females or kids but compared to most movies today still worth watching

If you've seen a Kevin James movie before or liked King of Queens, you know what your getting in to. It's Kevin James talking to animals. Funny if that's your type of humor. I enjoyed it!

Just another average Kevin James movie. A few laughs here and there, but I've seen this movie before with Eddie Murphy. A little too campy for my taste and not very original. If this means anything, my 8 year old liked it.

Excellent movie for any family with children. Watching this kept reminding me of the laughs I had watching Dr Doolittle as well. Definitely a movie worth the price that was paid for a great night of family entertainment.

Kevin James has his turn at another romantic comedy. What's great for the family is the movie is more focused on the zoo animals & the comedy than on the romance. Nice casting with Donnie Wahlberg & Rosario Dawson.

It was a comedy that was safe for the whole family. Our daughter liked the animals and I liked that the language was family friendly unlike so many of the comedy's out there.
