I own several ASUS products and have always been a fan of their gaming lineup. I got the ASUS ROG Pelta wireless gaming headset to use with my ROG Ally, After I unboxed it, my first impression was mixed. The design is minimalist, and the headset is extremely lightweight. I feel that ASUS made this headset to provide a balance between comfort, versatility, and sound performance. It features 50 mm drivers and tri-mode connectivity (2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired). The Bluetooth connection is straightforward and sounds good on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is very comfortable on head and sometimes I forget I’m wearing it. The headband is two bands, the top one is padded and right below that one, there is elastic band that can be adjusted to two different sizes, ensuring a better fit. Battery life-wise seems to be impressive. The headset has a wide compatibility that makes it ideal for PC, consoles like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, handhelds, and even smartphones. I like the soft, breathable fabric earcups, which make long gaming sessions much less annoying. The mic is detachable and from my testing it crystal clear, and my voice quality was praised during gaming with friends. There is also a dedicated mic mute button for quick access when activated, an red led light up to indicate the mute status. The RGB lighting on the earcups is subtle but it is nice at night that can be customized using ASUS Armoury Crate software. However, there are a few drawbacks that I wish this headset has or offers it. Despite being lightweight, the headset doesn’t feel very premium and most of it is made from plastic, which makes it feel plasticky and less premium. It lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack, and the onboard function buttons take some time to get used to. However, This ROG Pelta is a good choice if you are looking for a headset that offers good sound quality, comfortable, lightweight, and flexibility of connection and good mic for its price point.

When it comes gaming for long hours you need comfort, sound, battery life and connectivity and the Asus ROG Pelta meet all those requirements. The Pelta are a comfortable and light one size fits all headphone, the ear cushions have large cutouts for those of us with big ears. The elastic band is excellent for comfort (best I have used), I wore the headphones for hours on end without issue. The ear cups have just enough force to stay on my ears without causing any pain, the pressure is just enough to where the headphones don’t fall off but its not something you could go running with. As the ear force isn’t super firm I did notice that there was sound bleed so someone sitting next to me would hear what was playing through the headphones. The sound quality for the highs and mids is wonderful, I could hear all details while gaming and listening to music. Now the lows are slightly below average, you wont feel the rumbling base. I appreciate that Asus went with physical buttons over touch-based ones. The toggle button to turn the headset on/off or switch between Bluetooth or the 2.4 gig streaming via the dongle is perfect and should be used by all headphone makers. The buttons to mute the mic and pair Bluetooth do the job but I do wish Asus raised them a bit so I could feel them better or have some type of ribbing on them as the volume wheel does. The connectivity of the Pelta was great, there was no latency issue no matter how they were connected to any of my devices. The headphones were great during gaming and the boom mic worked as intended, my friends could hear me perfectly. Overall the Pelta are a good gaming headset that has excellent comfort and amazing battery life (so far used them for 24 hours and im sitting at 50%).

Visually, this is a very good-looking headset. The matte finish clashes nicely with the metal-matte accents. There’s subtle branding on the headband and since they’re gaming headphones, there’s RGB on the cups without being too much. Although they are very light and a bit loose, they seem well-built. They are very comfortable. They have an adjustable suspension band that sists lightly on the head. I hope this band does not become loose over time. The breathable pads allow plenty of ventilation and prevent overheating. The clamping force is minimal, but I did experience some pressure right underneath my ear after several hours (and that might just be me). They also sit nicely on the neck, if that matters. The controls are easy to figure out and are positioned well. I love the volume rocker wheel. My only nitpicks are that I keep missing the mic mute button and I wish it was on the other side, and the BT/2.4 can be a bit confusing since it is also the on/off slider. These cans connect to almost everything. I tried them on the PC, PS5, Switch 2, tablet, and even phone. I used the 2.4Ghz dongle with no issues and basically no lag. The dongle is USB-C but comes with an adapter. Tried the Bluetooth with my tablet and phone, again, there were no noticeable sync issues. The connection range was quite impressive. And just in case you like the best connection, you can use the headset in wired mode via the included USB-C cord. I noticed that the volume rocker worked erratically with the Switch 2 and the mic mute and function button raised the volume. Sadly, there is no X-Box compatibility. Out of the box this headset’s sound is airy and on the bright side. There is a good punch in the bass, but the sub-bass is a little lacking. Bass-heavy sounds like explosions and heavy engines don’t have that deep subwoofer feel. However, midrange sounds like shots, dialogue, and metallic audio come through with impact. The treble adds even more clarity to distant and subtle sounds such as shouts, traffic, and steps. The soundstage is wide, and the imaging allows one to pinpoint directional and distance queues. Overall, the headset presents a decent and realistic sound experience. Listening to music, on the other hand, was just too bright for my taste especially when listening to my phone since there is no companion app to change the EQ. The Crate software allows you to change the sound signature with a full EQ, although I could not bring the bass extension I was looking for. Also, the headset does not remember the EQ settings once disconnected. In the software, you can change the specialty button, RGB colors, and keep the firmware updated. The mic works exceptionally well. I used it in multiplayer games and all the mic checks were successful. I also made work-related calls and attended an online meeting, and I was heard clearly. I did not have to raise my voice and the mic hardly picked up keystrokes or other ambient noise. Despite not being perfect, I am quite pleased with the versatility and performance of this headset. Plus, it doesn’t break the bank. I certainly recommend it for those that have multiple devices, and want the one headset for all.

The ASUS Rog Pelta Wireless Gaming Headset works well for long hours of wear. Whether you are spending long hours working online or gaming, this headset is comfortable. The audio is crystal clear. The headset is lightweight and the earcups are well padded. It works with Bluetooth or via 2.4Ghz WiFi. It has a removable boom mic, which is a real plus for me since my glasses interfere with mics that are in the earcups. The audio is crystal clear, gaming sound effects are very realistic. I wound up testing the headset during a marathon video work call and it was surprisingly comfortable. Then there are the cool trademark ASUS ROG LED lights. These are customizable using the downloadable Armory Crate software. The lights can be easily turned off by pressing and holding the mute button on the left earcup, or with the software. One nice feature is that the headset will still work when plugged into the USB port. My old headsets would not, and that was a real pain when the batteries ran low during a call or gaming session. While I’m not crazy about being tethered by a wired headset, it’s good to know I can plug in and continue the meeting. The headset has some adjustment for different head sizes by repositioning the elastic band. It looks like it will easily fit large heads. But when it is adjusted for smaller heads, there is a very large gap between the elastic band and the headset headband. It looks a bit weird on video calls to have the top of my headset floating a couple of inches above the top of my head. My old headset had minimal range on 2.4Ghz WiFi. Basically, if I left my office space/ got more than about ten feet away, I lost connectivity. The ROG Pelta had the same problem. I could get a little farther away, but not enough to go into the next room to get a cup of coffee. (Your mileage may vary here.) The ROG Pelta does seem to have reliable Bluetooth connectivity, though. I managed to go outdoors and still hear the lecture I was listening to when the headset was connected via Bluetooth. All in all, I like the ROG Pelta headset. It is comfortable, performs well and even though it looks weird when adjusted for my head size the earcups stay in place. Compare the performance to headsets costing many times more than these and you will find the ROG Pelta headset is a good value and worth a try.
