A: Hello Gaven I am currently saving up for this laptop myself, lucky I was able to talk to a sales rep via online chat and they told me that this version of the Asus ROG Strix Scar is 2017 version. After doing some research on my own I can only assume that this version might be a Asus ROG Strix Scar GL703GE version and the one that is listed for around $1200 is a ASUS ROG Strix Scar Edition GL703GS which is a newer version. I hope this info helps you in some way.
