I was wondering why there wasn’t any reviews on this. I have tried quite a few speakers from Best Buy in home trying to make a decision. KEF, B&W, Wharfedale and Elac. I will say these are BY FAR the most beautiful of them all. I gave the quality 5 stars but that’s only for the build quality. The build and design is astonishing. The sound though, it’s far from its price point. First, there is ZERO imaging with this pair. None. Nada. Zilch. I tried everything from 5 feet apart to 10 feet apart close to the wall and off the wall. Toed in, facing straight forward. Every possible combination and the sound was this; there’s a speaker on the right, and there is a speaker on the left. They are very efficient and play loud but there is not much low end. They are also much more bright then I would have imagined using that tweeter. All in all I’m not impressed in the slightest. Not sure if anyone is familiar with the KEF LS50 Meta or the Q350 even, but perhaps these have spoiled me. Those 2 speakers are the type you read about in reviews where they say “the speakers disappear” Heck, the Q350 is $700 and blows these Carina’s out of the water. That’s all for now. You’ve been warned.

I bought into the marketing and bought a set of LS50 Metas. My conclusion was that KEF is more lifestyle than audiophile. I replaced them with these Elacs and couldn’t be happier. The clarity on these is amazing. I can only imagine what their higher end products sound like but until I get an unexpected windfall, these will suffice.
