A: When plugged to 115v X 1.1 Amp (from description) draws 126.5 run-watts. The start-spike on cold appliances is commonly around 800 to 1000 watts for a split second, if considering running off battery power; this might be a good option for thrifty energy use. Only a chest freezer uses a chunk less; I run a plain basic chest freezer (100 run-watts) as a fridge, w/ a mechanical pin timer, w/ only 5 pins pulled equal around the clock. 2 of those ran on a GZ Li1400 battery setup, just fine.

Q: Can this refrigerator be shipped on its side?
A: No refrigerator should be shipped on its side. When shipped on their side, you take the chance of the compressor oil leaking into the lines. Then the compressor starts up without enough oil.

So far so good
Excellent replacement for decades old mini-fridge, the same basic footprint, but has a freezer on top. The old one needed to be defrosted on the regular and was a tiny, sad excuse for a freezer (held two frozen dinners, max). Regular defrosting is a pain that just didn’t happen. This new one looks great, does the trick and most importantly: self defrosting. Time will tell how well this feature ends up working… and I will update the review, especially if it does not. My biggest issue is that it arrived with a broken shelf and replacing it has been challenging so far. Supposedly a case was put in by the manager at my local Best Buy where I picked it up to send me a new one, but I haven’t seen any emails… I took the star off for arriving broken and I still don’t have final resolution on this shelf business. It is worth mentioning that if you have to move the door to open on the other side it’s a pretty involved job and a pain in the butt. However, I’m glad I could move it successfully and I’m glad I don’t have to do it again!
