    • Downdraft Ventilation: false (This ventilation system, typically integrated right into the cooktop, pulls smoke and fumes downward in order to ventilate them away from the cooking area. If a range hood is not an option due to your cooktop location or you need more cabinet space above the cooking surface, downdraft ventilation will save space while ensuring smoke and odors are still being ventilated.)

Q: What happens when you forget it on?

A: There is a timer that you can set. You are able to set the timer anywhere from 0 to 3 hours, all in 10 minute increments. Once the timer reaches zero the cooker will shut off. Also, If you try to use this without cookware on the cooking surface it will not heat up and an alarm will sound. If cookware is not placed on the cooking surface within 10 seconds, it will return to standby mode. If the cookware is removed, a buzzer sounds and it will go into standby within 10 seconds if cookware is not placed back onto the unit.

Q: Can you set this stovetop to a specific temperature? For example, to use as a sous vide, or candying, or frying.

A: This unit has a temperature range from 1-10 so if you wanted the lowest you could set it to 1 and it would keep your pan warm or sort of a simmer. It actually comes with an owners manual that gives the power level, watts and cooking level for each number. For example, setting the power level to the lowest number 1 uses 120 watts and the cooking level would be "simmer/keep warm. If you set it to 10 then it uses 1300 watts and the cooking level would be high/boiling.

Q: Hi. Is it cool to the touch? Thx.

A: Induction heaters will only heat compatible pots and pans, and will not transfer heat to non metal objects. But, If you have been using one of those pots or pans and remove it, the surface is still going to be hot to the touch.

Q: What is the maximum stove temperature? How can I cook at 350 degrees using your number method that is not in any of my recipe books?

A: Temp Level Temperature 1 140° F (60° C) 2 176° F (80° C) 3 212° F (100° C) 4 248° F (120° C) 5 284° F (140° C) 6 320° F (160° C) 7 356° F (180° C) 8 374° F (190° C) 9 392° F (200° C) 10 428° F (220° C)

Q: Minimum safe distance to keep metal away from the stove

A: Using this induction cooker on your table top will be fine, regardless of the metal strips under the table. The cooker should have 4.7 inches of space on all sides. Do not put any metal on the cooking are unless you are wanting to heat it up, otherwise metal will be fine outside the 4.7 inches.

Q: What is the size of the cooking area? What pot size and pan size come with this unit?

A: This will include the 2-quart sauce pan with lid, and 8" frying pan. The dimensions are 2.4"H x 11.6"W x 14.8"D.

Q: Is this noisy? I have one unit (not the same brand) that has a pretty noisy fan that runs when it is on.

A: Yes the fan is noticeable but I don't seem to mind it as I am usually busy doing other kitchen tasks. In a way it sort of reminds me that I have something on the cook top and not to go off and leave it unattended. Before I got this induction top I was forgetful and the pan would boil over and make such a mess. I don't seem to do that now.

Q: How many watts?

A: 1300 watts - I have already recommend this set to friends.
