  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: What is "Condensation Drying"? How well does this unit dry dishes?

A: I'm not sure what it means, but I can tell you I replaced a 21 year old dishwasher with this model and i do surely miss my old one. This unit will NOT dry your dishes at all without a rinse aid such as Jetdry. I washed 2 loads without using a drying rinse aid, and i also pushed the"extra dry" button...they came out soaking wet. I called LG, they said you cannot go without a drying rinse agent. I sure wish the sales people at Best buy told me. I would have looked for an old fashioned dishwasher that still uses heating coils to help dry along with the optional rinse aid. I have tried a load with a rinse aid, and it was much better.

Q: Has anyone experienced that after running the dishwasher, the dishes are still dripping wet. I have looked over everything but cannot find anything. Is there a setting I need to utilize? Any assistance?

A: The answer is: You need to add the "Finish" rinse&dry product for dishwashers; "Finish" is the name brand (any supermarket sells it), and it's the blueish fluid you add next to the dishwasher soap container; once you add the "Finish" fluid (not every time but once every couple of months or more), your dishes (and dishwasher) will end every cycle dried up. Hope this helps.

Q: I've never had a dishwasher that uses condensation drying, and I'm concerned that it means the walls of the inside tub will be left with water inside all the time, leading to mold, mildew or at the very least a musty smell. Has anyone experienced this?

A: I have this exact problem!! The walls of this dishwasher and the entire tub and door are ALWAYS dripping wet with condensation. So frustrating because it makes it smell. In addition, dishes do NOT completely dry, so if you don't removed promptly, they begin to sweat and fog up from the condensation inside. So disappointed. I am considering returning it.

Q: COST TO REMOVE AND INSTALL NEW DISHWASHER

A: The install is $160 and the cost to haul away is $15, but if you watch for sales they will have free installs.

Q: what is the decibel rating ?

A: Don't remember the decibel rating...it was fairly high, but am very pleased with this dishwasher. It is extremely quiet, partly because it is a direct drive. No belts to worry about. The first time I ran it, I had to stand next to it to make sure it was running.

Q: Is the rear of the dishwasher supose to touch the floor when the front legs are risen? I don't see any legs in the back so the rear of the unit is like free standing... Model # LDF5545ST

A: There is only one rear leg it's in the center. The adjuster is on the front of the dish washer (bottom center behind the plate) for the rear leg. Use a philips head screwsriver. It's better to adjust the rear leg before sliding the dishwasher in.

Q: Does this dishwasher have a hard food disposer or filtration?

A: It has a filter. You do have to scrap any food from your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, but you do not need to pre-wash them. I am very pleased with the way my dishes come out sparkling clean every time!

Q: Does this include installation and do you remove the old dishwasher?

A: Best Buy will take the old dishwasher with them. When we bought our dishwasher they were not installing them. You may want to contact store in your area to see if that's changed
