The SMP200 is a compact Class D mono subwoofer amplifier built to power passive subwoofers in home theater and whole-house audio systems. It supplies 120W RMS at 8 ohms with 240W peak, or 200W RMS at 4 ohms with 400W peak, giving in-wall and stand-alone passive subs the power they need for low-frequency impact on movie and music soundtracks. An advanced crossover circuit adjusts from 35Hz to 160Hz using the front-panel control knob, with additional front-panel phase and volume controls to dial in the right amount of low-frequency effect for the room. Inputs accept either speaker-level or line-level RCA connections, so the amplifier works with both modern receivers and older source equipment. Auto-sensing turns the amplifier on when a signal is detected and off when it is not, and a 12V trigger mode supports integration with automated systems. Tuning the crossover controls the overlap between the subwoofer and the main speakers, producing a seamless handoff and distortion-free bass instead of a boomy or hollow midbass region.
Variable phase adjustment from 0 to 180 degrees aligns the subwoofer with the main speakers so bass reinforces rather than cancels.
