Video : 5/5 Audio: 5/5 Detections: 4/5 App: 5/5 Integration: 5/5 AI: 2/5 Local recordings: 0/5 The Outdoor Cam Pro is easy to set up and configure, its app is one of the best on the market and super easy to navigate. Outdoor Cam Pro has some standout features such as amazon sidewalk which allows your camera to work even when your internet goes down. This added with the neighbor’s feature and AI powered search party ( both of these are community-based features that allow you to find lost pets and alert neighbors about potential issues) helps differentiate the camera from others. Pros: Audio: This is by far the best Microphone/Speaker set up I have ever used. The speaker is loud and clear, I have the camera placed at the corner of my garage and can have a conversation with someone at the entrance of my driveway that’s how loud the audio is. No other wired or wireless camera competes when it comes to audio. Video: The video quality is excellent during daytime and even during nighttime the black and white video works amazing. The colors are excellent and you can make out rich details on everything. The low light sight features will give you full color even with a little bit of street lighting, but I did notice with the low light sight feature you will get ghosting on people that are 5 to 7 feet from the camera. I was impressed with how quickly the video loads when I am away from home and scrubbing through events is super smooth. While there is no 24/7 feature the camera will take still pictures throughout the day to gives you a timelapse effect when you are scrubbing through the video. Cons: Detections: While the camera did a good job with detections it did not do great with notifications. As an example someone walked onto my drive path and walked back I would not get an alert when they walked back. This must be an issue with the cool down period for alerts as the camera would record the motion, however it would not send me an alert about it. There were no false alerts, but this is a given as everything is being processed in the cloud AI: The Outdoor Cam Pro has a AI description option that lets you know what the camera is seeing. The AI detections do work however there isn’t much descriptions about the movements. I have used other budget cameras that provide details about the person in sight along with what the person is doing in the recording. All I got from the Outdoor Cam Pro was “person walked across driveway”. At first, I thought this was because the recording were being processed locally however this is not the case, all recordings are processed in the cloud. With that being the case, I am very surprised at how bad the AI descriptions are, I understand it’s a beta option but I was expecting much more. The Outdoor Cam Pro is a nice addition if you already have a Ring security system. The neighbors feature along with amazon sidewalk and search party are amazing features that are beneficial for communities. While the video quality and playback speed are very impressive, I was not impressed with the AI features. Having everything sent to the cloud should mean much more detailed descriptions of what is happening on your property. I have also noticed that 7 GB of data is uploaded a day so for those on limited data plans or slow speeds you could run into trouble. Without having a local recording option, it is hard to recommend unless you’re already in the Ring ecosystem.

The hardware of the Ring Outdoor Cam Pro is exceptional, top to bottom, video to audio. And the app, though looking a little dusty and outdated compared to competitors, gives you a lot more features to play with (if you pay for the subscription). I think this is a fantastic addition to your home if you are looking for an outdoor security camera and are already in the Ring ecosystem. Especially if you are looking for exceptional video and audio quality, without having to pay for floodlights. Our backyard neighbors are very grateful for swapping out our old spotlight model for this one. And as you can see by the attached photo, while my old Ring outdoor cam needed the spotlight as soon as the sun started setting, the new Outdoor Cam Pro doesn’t even really need spotlights at night (up to a certain distance). Overall, I think this is an incredible consumer security camera for outdoor use (during setup it asks if you are using indoor or outdoor so it can easily be set up for indoor use too). I do have some quibbles with it, first being that the camera is extremely barebones if you don’t have a subscription. Essentially you can get motion alerts and live view, but no historical video saving (other competitors at least give you 24 hours). If I wake up and see that something triggered the motion alert in the backyard in the middle of the night and I don’t pay for a subscription, I just have to hope that it was nothing nefarious as there is no way to review what happened. But if you already pay for the multi-camera subscription, and are looking for the best video quality in a security camera, whether indoor or outdoor, I can see no better option then the Outdoor Cam Pro. Pros: Exceptional video quality Amazing low light performance Great audio quality Lots of customization within the app Easy to setup Happy there is a high-end option without a spotlight Cons: Most features are behind subscription Ring has had a tumultuous history with user privacy App feels out of date compared to competitors Cord is odd, has a little power brick in the middle that you have to deal with

This Ring Outdoor Cam Pro has Retinal 4K for the ultimate wide-angle video, 10x Zoom, Low-Light Sight full-color in near dark. There are black and white options. I have the white one. In the box, you get the Ring Outdoor Cam Pro, power cord and AC adapter, installation hardware, manual, warranty, safety, and legal papers. Setup was simple. I downloaded the Ring application to my smartphone and added the camera. The instructions are in the application and are easy to follow. Power Source is a cable with an AC Adapter that plugs in. The cable is extraordinarily long. There are no shorter cables that you can use with this camera. Features of this camera are great and include 4K (2160p) video resolution, 3840 x 2160 camera resolution, excellent night vision, 33 feet distance of night vision, can be used indoors or outdoors, 2-way audio, 10x zoom that really works well, 3D motion detection that uses a radar to detect and send you alerts in real time. Picture and video on this camera are awesome. The clarity of the picture, the vividness of the colors, the sharp blacks and whites in daylight and night vision are both stunning. I was in awe of how great the still shots looked that I took. I was also able to zoom in on a pigeon on my deck and watch it for a while before snapping a photo of it. Mounting or standing it upright is a choice you have with this camera. I chose to stand it upright so that I can move it around as I decide where I want it permanently. It is weather resistant, so you can put it anywhere. The Ring Application is a huge plus for this camera. This is how you control the camera and set it up. It is free to download from the App Store on your smartphone. This app lets you join the Ring Neighbors where you can post your videos to search for your lost pet or others can use your videos to search for their lost pet. It uses Smart Video Search. You get this with a Ring Home Plan that is optional, of course, but makes things easier for you to keep your home and family safe. You can set privacy zones. You can contact first responders through SOS, which you must set up on the Ring application. The cool things you can do is add familiar faces to your app so that it will tell you who it sees on your camera. It has AI features so that it can process the videos and collect the biometric information for the Familiar Faces. It will also give you AI video descriptions, which are pretty spot on. The other AI features are AI Video Search, that allows you to find videos with keywords, and AI Single Event Alert which will group related events together in a single alert. Summary: I am really impressed with this Ring Outdoor Camera Pro, as it is indeed a professional-level camera.
