Every amplifier adds noise to the signal it amplifies, and in over-the-air TV that noise can be the difference between watching a weak, distant channel and losing it. Noise figure measures exactly that, and it is one of the most important specifications in a preamplifier. The Televes Preamp 3 delivers an ultra low noise figure across the entire TV band — Low VHF, High VHF, and UHF, at 0.9 dB and reaching as low as 0.5 dB on UHF — making it the lowest-noise TV preamplifier available with automatic gain control and built-in filtering. That last part matters. Achieving a relatively low noise figure is relatively easy in a basic, fixed-gain amplifier with no protection. Doing it while keeping steep FM, LTE, and 5G filtering and intelligent automatic gain control is not, because those features normally tax the noise performance. Using state-of-the-art low-noise components and RF design, Televes engineered the Preamp 3 to deliver both, so you get the cleanest possible signal without giving up the features that protect it. At its core is Televes' proprietary TForce automatic gain control, which continuously adapts to changing conditions. When signals are strong, gain adjusts down to avoid overload. When signals are weak, gain increases to compensate. The result is a consistently clean, balanced output at all times, without any manual adjustment. The integrated FM, LTE, and 5G filters ensure only the TV signals you want are amplified, blocking the most common interference and overload sources before they can degrade your picture. Housed in an all-new rugged outdoor enclosure with a high-screening metal chassis, the Preamp 3 mounts directly to your antenna mast and is powered over the same coaxial cable through the included UL-listed power supply, which provides two outputs for distributing the amplified signal to multiple TVs. The compact, high-technology SmartKom® preamplifier with digital channel processing from Televes® is designed for outdoor installation in family homes. Equipped with 3 inputs, it combines and amplifies these terrestrial signals (VHF+UHF) to bring in stations from different sites. Each channel can be individually filtered and adjusted by any of the 32 available programmable filters. SmartKom® is supplied with a 12-volt (750-mA) domestic power supply that is inserted into the coaxial installation and powers it through its output connector. Thanks to the Bluetooth® antenna included into the PSU, the preamplifier can be programmed wirelessly via smartphone or tablet using the ASuite app. This app offers 2 programming modes: Automatic and Manual.
