Q: What is the difference between TI - 84 Plus and a TI - 84 plus CE? What does the CE stand for?

A: CE is an abbreviation of Color Enhancement. The TI-84 Plus has a few more unrecognizable programs, those of which you'll never really use. The TI-84 Plus CE basically offers more memory for the optional programs that can be downloaded free online from Texas Instruments (instructions provided in the manual when purchased), offers color for various graphing, and has a rechargeable lithium battery that can also be replaced if needed (TI-84 Plus doesn't have). Wiser investment - my opinion.

Q: Does the Ti-84 come with the charger

A: Yes, a charger is included, as well as an additional short cord to plug into a USB Port on a laptop or computer for downloading purposes.

Q: My grandson lost his charger for his T1-84+ CE graphing calculator. This is the 3rd charger I have ordered and it doesn't fit. Did they change the charger size? The charger size is smaller than the input on the calculator. Is this a known problem?

A: When we cant find our original charger to the T1-84+CE calculator we can use our Nintendo DS charger and it charges just fine. Maybe try that? I have 3 different colors of this calculator and all of our Chargers are the same. I do know that the charging cords are different for each model though. A T1-83 and a T1-84 do not have the same chargers for example.

Q: My daughter needs the TI84 Plus for college calculus but her professor said it can’t be the one that you can send messages/emails or any correspondence with another calculator. Does the TI84 Plus CE have that capability? And do any of the TI84 calculators

A: The TI-84 CE cannot send messages. It is a great calculator to purchase and it should work for most if not all college courses

Q: My son needs this for high school math. Should I get the I 84+ or simply the I 84 ? His teacher did not specify. He was merely told to get a graphing calculator

A: I would recommend the plus ce version. The ce is color one. Looks great. Have them price match Walmart. It was cheaper there.

Q: Can the rechargeable battery be replaced?

A: I just called TI and they have replacement batteries for $5.00 https://education.ti.com/en/us/customer-support/contact_support/overview She said keep it charged, dont let it run real low. ALSO, do NOT use a phone charger, ONLY use the calculator charger. Sept 8, 2016

Great buy
This calculates everything and has the necessary functions for any college course. The larger screen and graphing helps a lot with my current needs.

TI-84 Plus CE: A Colorful and Capable Classroom Co
My daughter absolutely loves her new Texas Instruments TI-84+ CE Graphing Calculator! It arrived on time and works perfectly. The color screen is a huge improvement, making graphs and equations much easier to see and understand. It's made math class much more enjoyable for her, and she's no longer struggling to share a calculator with her teacher. While it was a bit of an investment, it's definitely worth it to have her own, reliable calculator for school and tests. The TI-84 is a classic for a reason, and this updated CE version is fantastic. Highly recommend!
