Six 2.5-inch full-range drivers and two 1-inch tweeters in the soundbar deliver rich, detailed audio, and the two 8-inch wireless subwoofers enhance the experience with resounding bass. This Nakamichi Shockwafe Elite 7.2.4-channel sound bar system includes a sound bar that delivers clear dialog and dynamic sound.
A: YES, there is a major sound delay up to 300MS. Most of the delay is when ATMOS is turned on and stems from the rear wireless speakers. The system is completely unusable for watching movies due to the delay. Watching music videos is quite hilarious though, some songs end on screen a whole beat before the sound hits. I do not believe there is a way to correct this with updates since it's a driver issue from weak processors. I noticed that when pushing 1080P content, the sound was more responsive than 4K, which tells me the processor is handling everything and cannot keep up. They would physically need to beef up the processor in order to make this work within acceptable levels. The LAG between the 7.2 and the 9.2 system would be identical due to the wireless feature of the system.
Q: Is this system truly wireless? all components??
A: No, the rear surround speakers are wired to the same side subs. The subs then connect to the wall outlet for power.
Q: Do the two rear speakers generate Dolby Atmos sound like the sound bar?
A: In the manual that you can find on Nakmichi website for the 7.2.4 it says you can lay the surround speakers down tilted upward to enhance the vertical effect. I just received my system on January 3, 2020 and if you are listening to Dolby Atmos you will hear more sounds from the rear speakers than you would with traditional 5.1 or 7.1 playback. To make sure you get the full effect of Dolby Atmos make sure to use the SSE button and make sure that Surround is active on the system. I have attached the manual for you hope this helps.
Q: Is this sound bar capable with the Xbox series x? Does it support hdmi 2.1?
A: I asked the same question and got the following response from Nakamichi!....... Thank you for reaching out to Nakamichi! After hearing from our customers that are lucky enough to have one, you cannot do a passthrough with the ps5, the ps5 will have to be plugged into the tv, then the TV will process the audio and send it to the soundbar. There's pretty much no soundbar on the market that can do a 4k 120 hz passthrough. Thank you for your interest in our brand!
Q: Does this system need an AV receiver?
A: No, run ARC from TV to soundbar, run your media device to soundbar and thats pretty much it. I have a shield connected to mine and it to the TV. Any smart features play from TV to soundbar and media from Shield goes through soundbar to TV. It made a very clean setup for me. A huge plus being wireless subs and the satellite speakers are wired above subs, but ultimately a clean setup and easy install.
Q: Is this system truly wireless??
A: No... it needs three power plugs - one for the soundbar and two for the subs. The subs connect to the rear speakers via a very long 18 foot plus cable. The connection between the subs and soundbar is wireless... however, it causes about a 160-180MS lag, so you need to adjust the response time with the system on the center speakers - this will also increase the lag from the TV screen to the sound so you'll never get a good picture-sound match. Everyone on screen will be done talking, but still ending their sentence through the sound system. There's also the HDMI and optical cables that connect from your TV to the devise. The system allows for 3 additional HDMI inputs or for your to direct the sound out of your TV to the devise. The least amount of LAG is to input everything you can to the soundbar directly and carry the video through the system to the TV, doing it the other way creates even more lag. Hope it helps.
A: No. My subs are about 20 feet away from the soundbar, and I have no issues.
A: Bluetooth that pairs when system is turned on. A flashing blue led will change to solid blue within a second on power up.
