Do what's best for your body. Fitbit Charge 5 + Premium connects the dots between your activity, sleep and stress so you can make the best decisions for your body, mind and health. It all starts with your 6-month Premium membership1 and Daily Readiness2, a score based on activity, sleep and heart rate variability (HRV) that helps you optimize your workout routine. Your score comes with personalized activity recommendations: low means go easy and recover--light yoga, deep breathing--while a high score gives you the green light to go all out. Enhance your recovery routine with advanced stress-management tools like the on-wrist EDA sensor. Stay ahead of heart health with atrial fibrillation (AFib) heart rhythm assessments using the on-wrist ECG app.3 And you'll always have motivation to reach new goals with hundreds of guided workouts, a gallery of refreshing mindfulness sessions plus the fitness features you know and love like Active Zone Minutes and built-in GPS. Fitbit is part of the Google family.
A: Yes, for some of the features like ECG, you need the premium service. You can still use all the basic functions (step counting, sleep, etc.) without, but even then it might be less user friendly. Once I realized about the ECG locking, I returned before seeing what else premium unlocks.
A: No you do NOT have to have a paid subscription for the normal functions. I’ve had Fitbit for 10 years and have never upgraded to more gadgets .
Q: Can you swim with this Fitbit ?
A: Water resistant to 50 meters.
Q: Does it have a stopwatch capability?
A: Yes it does but beware of this new Fitbit Charge because the battery life is terrible. I have to charge it daily and I’ve gone through all the trouble shooting with no luck at fixing it.
A: This has a totally different display than the previous Charge models. It’s bright, colorful and I have absolutely no problems seeing it in the sunlight.
Q: I would love one of these! Do I have to have the membership or can I buy one without it? Thanks
A: You can buy without membership and get access to basic health tracking data, such as steps, heart rate, active minutes. The membership provides access to additional health data and statistics.
Q: Does this band charge wirelessly?
A: No, the Charge 5 does not have wireless charging. It comes with a charging cable. Note that the charging cable is different than previous models.
Q: Does this Fitbit show the actual ecg tracing that can be saved & sent to a physician?
A: No not yet. This feature is not available right now. It is supposed to be avaliable in a later update.
