A: Best Buy needs to correct this specification. It was confusing to me too. I actually have to research more and go to Eufy website to get a clarification about the wired thing. It doesn’t need to be hard wired. It’s indeed a wireless camera that works on a built in battery. The solar panel keeps the battery charged if set up as the source. The solar panel gets attached to the camera with a wire that comes with the camera. I asume it’s for this reason Best Buy has it as wired.

Eufy S340 PTZ Camera Checks All the Boxes
I’ve had the Eufy S340 Outdoor Solar Powered 3K PTZ Security Camera with Dual Lens for about a month now, and it’s honestly one of the best security upgrades I’ve made for my home. This camera hits that sweet spot where ease of use, performance, and smart features all come together. From the solar charging to the 360° coverage and sharp video quality, everything just works—and works well. First off, setup was quick and painless. The Eufy app guided me step-by-step, and I had the camera connected to Wi-Fi and mounted within 20 minutes. I didn’t need to mess with wires or external power thanks to the built-in solar panel, which has kept the battery charged without any issues, even with cloudy weather. I haven’t had to plug it in once. The image quality is excellent. The main 3K camera produces crisp, clear footage with great detail both during the day and at night. The color night vision is a nice touch—objects and faces are easy to identify even in low light. The dual lens setup is smart. One lens gives you a wide-angle view for general monitoring, and the other zooms in to track motion with detail. The PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) feature is smooth and responsive. A great addition to my eufy setup
I purchased the eufy S340 to replace my Ring Spotlight Cam Pro when I switched from Ring to eufy. The S340 has everything I was looking for, solar powered, great motion detection, and high resolution cameras. It also has great night vision with color or black and white. The dual camera system works great at covering my backyard and driveway and I can zoom in with clear detail at about 30-40’ easily. I wish it had a little bit wider horizontal field of view, but that’s a minor complaint. I have the S340 paired with a HomeBase 3 and together it’s a great combination. I get extra motion detection features and lots of video storage space. The solar panel works incredibly well at keeping the battery charged. Overall I’m really happy with the S340, it does everything I need it to do.
