27" Trim Kit for Select Panasonic Microwaves - Stainless steel

This trim kit looks great and is of high quality. I am taking off 2 stars due to difficulty of installation and slight microwave wobble. It is very nice that the trim just clips on for final installation, but positioning the clips with very narrow tolerances allowed can be difficult depending on cabinet dimensions. I had to do quite a bit of fabrication. On a 27 inch install, the external vent applied to the microwave does not allow for clearance past the left upper clip. I had to remove this clip to install the microwave, then move the microwave all the way to the right (off the tracks) to allow reinstallation of the left upper clip. This probably will not be a problem on a 30-inch install. I suspect larger cabinets do not even need the external vent. Wobble is due to the microwave just sitting on tracks and not being screwed down to tracks, but wobble is very mild and not really a problem.

This review is for the NN-TK922SS (cabinet opening 25 1/2" by 17 3/8"). The trim kit looks fine. It can be a challenge to install if your opening is not exactly what is specified in the instructions. My opening was 25" not 25.5" and 17 5/8" not 17 3/8". I had to notch out the cabinet 1/4 inch on the left and right sides for the brackets and also shim the top brackets down about 1/4". It worked, but barely. The duct piece is a bit tricky to get bent and placed properly. It screws to oven at only one point and is taped along the top and left side of the oven, It works, but it is a bit of a kludge. Overall, I am happy with the results, now that is installed. It looks nice with the oven.

Not easy to install. I have to use different way to install.

I have high expectations for this Trim Kit, we are preparing for a total kitchen remodel. This item has not been installed yet, but my expectations are high that it will do as expected to make our Microwave less counter top looking and more streamlined. I will add additional notes and pictures when the install is finished. Price was nice with the addition of our rewards $$.

Microwave trim kits are tricky. Tis may or may not fit your opening without modification. I had to modify my kit to make it fit. Looks good after it is installed.

Front piece is one piece so if you have a pre-existing opening------it pretty much has to fit exactly to the mm. Difficult to deal with.

I liked the looks of the kit but when we tried to install, it let a large space around microwave that looked bad. So we decided not to use a trim kit and returned it. Microwave looks better without it and works fine.
