Q: What is the app that is associated with this tracker? How do you charge the tracker (USB connection? Computer or wall outlet?) Do you have to detach the band from the tracker face in order to charge it? How long does it hold a charge?

A: Charger is a USB style cable that is specific to this product and can be plugged into any usb port (computer, wall charger - it does NOT come with the wall outlet to usb adaptor). You do not have to detach the face from the band.

Q: I am getting this for my 9 yo son. He wants to track his steps and tell time, but doesn't have a phone. Does the watch need to have the phone near by consistently to count steps and does it have a timer you can set?

A: since it is a fitbit you can sync it whenever you want- just tell a phone to do so and it should sync no timer needed and you can download the app to monitor everything and such. Hope this helped!
